E3 2019 Most Anticipated and Predictions

It's June and every gamer in the world knows what that means. Yes, it's usually when there's a drought in new game releases, but more importantly, it's time for E3! Every year E3 brings us a plethora of new game announcements, trailers, demos, and of course all the hype we can handle. This year's E3 is a little different since companies like EA and Sony announced a while ago that they were not going to be having their usual conference, but regardless, there is still a lot to look forward to and be excited about.

As with the past several years, I've compiled a list of the games and conferences I'm most anticipated to see and some predictions of what I think will be shown at some of the conferences throughout the event. So check out my most anticipated/predictions below and get ready for some awesome gaming news and coverage!

Microsoft Conference

Microsoft is kind of in a special place this year with their biggest competitor (Sony) not having a conference. To me, this is the perfect opportunity for Microsoft to come out swinging big and really promote what they have in store both for the future of the Xbox family. One part of that I think Microsoft will spend some time highlighting is giving more details and demos of their Project xCloud gaming service, and officially revealing the next Xbox console and possibly give some of the specs it will have. Ultimately game wise, there will be some footage and details of Gears of War 5 and Halo Infinite being shown as those are the two big Microsoft exclusives. I also wonder if Microsoft will take the opportunity to show a new demo of CD Projeckt Red's highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 and announce some sort of special deal? I think this is going to be a great conference for Microsoft and I can't wait to see what they show.

Ubisoft Conference

In my opinion, Ubisoft has always had a decent conference in the years past. They usually show a pretty solid lineup (and some awkward moments) of new games and leave me excited to play them. With this year I believe they will be spending a good amount of the conference highlighting their big games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint and upcoming content to The Division 2. Ubisoft just confirmed the once rumored Watch Dogs Legion, and there's also been rumors of Assassin's Creed Vikings being shown too. I'm sure Ubisoft will have some other new games hidden up their sleeves.

EA Play Event

Alright, I'll be the first to say I've never been a big fan of sports games, and every E3 I get bored with a large chunk of EA's conference when they spend so much time talking about FIFA, Madden, and other sport games they are releasing. However, I understand many people do enjoy sports games and that's totally fine. So if you're a fan of those games I'm sure there will be something for you to enjoy. For me, the game I'm most excited to see shown at EA's conference is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I'm very cautiously optimistic about this game, but I have hope that Respawn Entertainment will deliver a solid experience with this game. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of Battlefield announcement during their event.

Bethesda Conference

Bethesda has been in a bit of a rocky place with the mess surrounding Fallout 76, but I still feel like they will have a solid lineup of games to look forward to seeing during their conference. Most of the games that will most likely be shown are games that have already been announced recently such as Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and The Outer Worlds. Regardless, I'm excited to see more of those games. In addition to Wolfenstein: Youngblood, I think there could be more shown of the Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot VR game too. I'm hoping to see more footage and details about Starfield, but I'm not holding my breath. In the realm of Tamriel, I think there will be some news and more details shown about the Elder Scrolls Online expansion Elsweyr, and the mobile game Elder Scrolls Blades. I'd love to see more of Elder Scrolls VI, but unfortunately Bethesda said they wouldn't have a showing of it.

Nintendo Direct Conference

As with years in the past, Nintendo will not be at E3, but instead have their own Nintendo Direct show where they pack a lot of new games coming to family of Nintendo devices this year and beyond. Nintendo has already stated there won't be any news about a new console and that it's going to be all about the games. I'm really hoping to see more footage of the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake, and would love the announcement of a brand new Zelda game. I'm also hoping to see more details and footage of Platinum Games' Astral Chain. Also, I don't doubt Nintendo will highlight Super Mario Maker 2, Animal Crossing, and new Pokemon games. Sadly, while I'd like to get more information about Metroid Prime 4, Nintendo has stated it won't be at E3 this year.
