Weekly Wrap Up! (12/16/11)

- The Playstation Vita has been released in Japan and Sony has shipped 700,000 units to meet the demand.

- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has become the fastest selling game in Steam's history. Bethesda has also said that Skyrim has shipped over 10 million copies to stores. Happy dragon hunting!

- Infinity Ward has released new game modes for Modern Warfare 3. These modes include community playlists, hardcore headquarters, and hardcore ricochet. Hardcore ricochet is added to all hardcore modes to help eliminate team killing. If someone fires on a teammate they take the damage and not the person they are shooting. So watch your fire!

- After eight years the mmo Star Wars Galaxies is no more. The servers were shut down, giving way to the new mmo Star Wars: The Old Republic.

- Infinity Ward is giving 13.5 year bans on players who are caught cheating, exploiting boost glitches, or doing anything really bad in Modern Warfare 3.  The bans last for 5,000 days and Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has confirmed this is real and they are taking this serious. So all you cheaters out there better watch out. Yeah, I'm talking to you!

- A new dlc pack for Grand Turismo 5 will be released next week and will include all new cars. Also, the 2.02 update will release simultaneously and includes a slew of bonuses. The dlc pack costs $3.99, but the update is free.

- Ninja Gaiden 3 has an official release date! Ryu's latest adventure will hit shelves on March 20, 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. An exclusive collector's edition will be released at GameStop that includes an art book, soundtrack, and a "Dual of the Mask" action figure. The collector's edition will cost $99.99. People who pre-order the game from GameStop or Amazon will receive a demo for Dead or Alive 5.
