New Games for April!
Are you in need of a new game to play? Just feeling like there's nothing new out there to meet your gaming needs? Well you're in luck because there are several new game releases for this month. This list contains just some of the games releasing (or already released) for the month of April that span a range of genres to appeal to almost anyone's gaming tastes. Take a look and maybe you'll find a new game to jump into soon.
If you loved the platformer Banjo-Kazooie and similar games from the 1990s, then you should check out Yooka-Laylee. The game features the loveable characters Yooka (the chameleon) and Laylee (the bat). Much like Banjo-Kazooie players will use both Yooka and Laylee to traverse the various levels and puzzles throughout the game. You'll travel to different worlds through magical books to collect "Pagies" to use to unlock new worlds and battle the evil Doctor Quack and Capital B from taking all the world's literature. Check out Yooka-Laylee for a light hearted platforming experience.

What Remains of Edith Finch is a new game from developer Giant Sparrow who created Unfinished Swan. In What Remains of Edith Finch, players will take on the role of Edith as she returns to her family home to uncover the mysterious heritage of her family. You'll discover more about Edith's family through exploration of deceased family member's rooms, secret passages, and all the while witnessing varied stories as the game progresses. If you like a story driven game with a mysterious and slightly eerie tone, definitely give What Remains of Edith Finch a try.

Outlast and it's DLC The Whistleblower are one of my favorite horror games that I've played. The intensity of hiding from crazed mental patients, the dark corridors, and sheer terror still stick with me years after playing the game. Thankfully developer Red Barrels is gracing us with more horror and jump scares with Outlast 2. However, Outlast 2 takes us away from the assylum setting and brings about a whole new character (Blake Langerman) and puts you outside in the Arizona desert. As a journalist you and your wife go to investigate the mysterious murder of a woman. Unfortunately you get separated from your wife after a helicopter crash and it's up to you to find her. Be prepared to explore a town full of creepy people, evil intentions, and plenty of frights as you venture into the horror filled landscape of Outlast 2.

Little Nightmares is another platformer on this list that also implies puzzle and horror elements. You'll take on the role of a nine year old kid named Six who is kidnapped and taken to the dark underwater world known as The Maw. When given a chance to escape, Six immediately takes it and thus brings about her journey through the strange world of The Maw and it's bizarre and evil inhabitants. Fans of puzzle platformers and stylish level and art designs should take a look at Little Nightmares.

You know Mario Kart and you love it. What more that can be said? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch is the same game that was released on the Wii U but with added content. The deluxe version of the game includes all previous DLC that was released, additional characters, Mii racing suits from Amiibos, new kart parts, and adds Battle Mode to pit players against one another in a battle arena. If you have a Nintendo Switch you need to get this game.
