Weekly Wrap Up! (3/25/17)
- Nintendo announced a limited edition for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia on the Nintendo 3DS. The limited edition includes a hardcover artbook, a pin set featuring the characters Marth and Celica, reversible game cover, sound selection soundtrack, and of course the game itself. The limited edition of the game will be available for $59.99 on May 19.
- Pokemon developer Game Freak has posted they are looking for individuals to help work on a new "globally popular RPG." This has people speculating that it could be a new Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch.
- New DLC was announced for Dead Rising 4 called the Frank Rising and Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf pack. Frank Rising is a new story line where Frank will gain new powers and abilities as he must feast on others to survive after being infected by an outbreak in Willamette. The Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf pack features various golf courses in Willamette, new costumes, clubs, golf balls, and powers to unlock.
Frank Rising will be available on April 4 for $10 on both Xbox One and Windows PC, or part of the game's season pass. The golf pack DLC will also cost $10 (or part of the game's season pass), but has only been listed as releasing sometime soon.
- A new job listed has possibly leaked the development of The Evil Within 2 from developer Tango Gameworks. The job listing is for a QA and translation person for Psycho Break 2, which is the Japanese title for Evil Within 2.
- A group of fans and developers are working on modding the entire map of Red Dead Redemption into Grand Theft Auto V and are looking for more developers to help. The mod is planned for a beta release sometime this summer. An image of some of the work in progress was posted online. Check it out below.
- Microsoft is releasing some new updates for the Xbox One including Arena and custom gamerpics. The arena mode will allow players to join tournaments and competitions on Xbox One, while the custom gamerpics will allow players to upload their own images from their Xbox One, Windows PC, and smart phone. The latest update will be rolling out to Xbox Insider members, but no official word on when it will release for everyone else.
- Facebook has launched their live streaming service for games now. Anyone with a Facebook account can now live stream games from their PC to Facebook events, pages, and groups.
- A new update for Rocket League has added a new dropshot mode. In the dropshot mode, players will be placed within a hexagonal arena where they must break through the floor of their opponents' side of the arena by knocking the ball downward.

- Sony released a Ghostbusters PSVR game this week on the PlayStation Store that allows players to explore the Firehouse HQ of the Ghostbusters and even try out a proton pack. The first episode is available for $6.99 in the US, and as of now Sony has not mentioned when it will be available in the UK and AU PlayStation Store.
- JRPG fans may be happy to know that Square Enix announced a Seiken Densetsu collection that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The collection will include Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3. Unfortunately, the collection is currently only releasing in Japan.
- The Castlevania-like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will no longer be releasing on the Wii U, and will instead be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. The developer stated the dropping of the Wii U version was due to Nintendo's discontinuing development of the Wii U and the lack of support they'd receive.
- Bethesda revealed that the VR version of Fallout 4 will be playable at this year's E3. The VR version of Fallout 4 is scheduled to release this year on the PC for the HTC Vive, and no word on whether or not it will become available on the Oculus Rift or PSVR.
- A image leaked online of a supposed poster for Destiny 2. The poster and reports have claimed that a beta is launching in June with exclusive early access to PlayStation 4, and the full game will release in September. This is all speculation and Bungie has not commented on the leaked info.
- The free games for April's Games With Gold were announced this week. On Xbox One, players can download Ryse: Son of Rome and Telltale's Walking Dead: Season 2. On the Xbox 360 players can download Darksiders and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Of course, the two Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible with the Xbox One.
- Outlast 2 has officially been un-banned in Australia. Earlier this week the Australian Classification Board gave the game a R18+ rating stating the game features high horror themes, blood, violence, sex, and gore. Outlast 2 will release for the Xbox One , PS4, and PC on April 25.
- With a new update, Blizzard changed the name of the Battle.net app to simply the Blizzard app. The services of the app remain the same.
- Love getting new themed controllers? Microsoft announced a new line of controllers themed after real military technology and patterns. The line of controllers will be called the Tech Series and the first controller is called the Recon Tech Special Edition. It features gold coloring patterns on the front and diamond rubberized grips on the back. The controller will be available April 25 for $70.
