Weekly Wrap Up! (3/18/17)
- According to a report, the Nintendo Switch sold about 1.5 million units during the first week, and that 89 percent of people who bought a Nintendo Switch purchased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
- Capcom revealed that Resident Revelations will be coming to Xbox One and PS4, both digital and physical copies, sometime this fall.
- Have you been interested playing Halo Wars 2? Well good news! Microsoft released a demo on both Xbox One and PC that allows players to experience the game's opening mission.
- Sony announced that their game streaming service PlayStation Now will soon begin to include PlayStation 4 games. This means that anyone with a PlayStation Now subscription will be able to play PS4 games on their PC.
- The crowd funded indie game ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove will now also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, as well as Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
- Fans of the strange, dark, and narrative lead games will be happy to know that What Remains of Edith Finch will officially release on the PlayStation Store and Steam on April 25.
- A new launch trailer for the upcoming stealth game Styx: Shards of Darkness was released to celebrate the game's launch. The game is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
- PaRappa the Rapper Remastered will release on April 4 on the PS4.
- Guerrilla Games released the new 1.04 patch for Horizon Zero Dawn this week that fixed many issues in the game's main quests, side quests, sound, and other various gameplay improvements. The full list of patch notes can be seen here: Horizon Zero Dawn 1.04 Patch Notes
- The Overwatch-like game Paladins has entered into closed beta on both Xbox One and PS4. Developer Hi-Rez Studios stated an open beta will be released at a later date.
- Fans who grew up watching Disney cartoons in the 90s will be thrilled to know that Capcom announced a six game bundle called the Disney Afternoon Collection. The collection includes classic games like DuckTales, DuckTales 2, Talespin, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck. The collection will be available on April 18 digitally on Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $19.99.
- Sony will be ending production of the PlayStation 3 sometime soon in Japan. No word on when production will be ending in other territories.
- Check your hard drive space. People who pre-ordered Mass Effect Andromeda digitally have already had their copies pre-installed onto their consoles. The Xbox One version will take 42.19 GB, and the PS4 version will take 42.9 GB of space. As listed, the PC version of the game states to allow at least 55 GB of hard drive space for the game.
- Encase you missed it, a new gory trailer for Friday The 13th: The Game was released during PAX East. Check out the incredibly gruesome deaths Jason bestows on the camp counselors.
- Sega revealed that the game Sonic Mania has been delayed this year from spring to summer, and that Sonic Forces (formally called Project Sonic) is still scheduled to release later this year.
- New content for Sniper Elite 4 is being added next week. There will be a new small campaign called Deathstorm that will take place after the events of the main game. There will also be a free update that will include a new multiplayer map and game mode called Elimination.
- Android users will be happy to know that Super Mario Run is officially releasing on March 23.
- Sony announced that more than 2.6 million copies of Horizon Zero Dawn were sold during the first two week after launch. This makes the game the best selling new IP. Developer Guerrilla Games have also stated they are working on new story content for the game as well.
- Bethesda released a new trailer for their upcoming sci-fi first person action game Prey. The trailer shows some of the deadly aliens players will be facing in the game. Prey releases May 5 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
