Weekly Wrap Up! (1/28/17)


- The beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands will run from February 3-6 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can sign up for the beta here.

- Bandai Namco announced that Tekken 7 will release on June 2 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

- The RPG I Am Setsuna will be available for the Nintendo Switch at launch on March 3.

- The free to play mobile game Pokemon Duel released on both iOS and Android earlier this week.

- The final DLC for Dark Souls 3, titled The Ringed City, will release on March 28 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Ringed City will take players literally to the end of the world and introduce new weapons, gear, and of course bosses. The Ringed City will be $14.99 on it's own, or is part of the game's season pass. Check out the trailer below!


- According to Digital Foundry, the Xbox Scorpio will not be using ESRAM because Microsoft is not allowing the development of Scorpio-only games, and because ESRAM is required for the Xbox One and Xbox One S. Also, the GPU of the Xbox Scorpio is said to be around 4.5 times more powerful than the Xbox One.

- Activision Blizzard revealed that Overwatch has passed 25 million players.

- Rally racing fans will be happy to know that Codemasters announced that Dirt 4 will release on June 9 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

- Microsoft shared that with the latest Xbox One update they will be removing the Snap feature in order to improve overall speed, reduce memory use, and improve multitasking features.

- Excited for Mass Effect Andromeda? BioWare released a new cinematic trailer to raise the hype meter even more!


- The first two batches of DLC for Resident Evil 7 have been announced and received a release date. The Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 DLCs will release for the PS4 on January 31 and February 14. Both DLCs will release on the Xbox One and PC on February 21. The Banned Footage DLCs will include two new tape missions and a game mode. The DLCs will cost $10 a piece, or are part of the game's season pass.

- The free Games With Gold Xbox games for the month of February were revealed this week. Xbox One owners can download Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time and Project Cars. Xbox 360 owners can download Monkey Island 2: Special Edition and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Both Xbox 360 games are also available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility.

- 343 Industries announced that the Classic Helmet REQ Pack for Halo 5: Guardians will release on February 9.


- Gears of War 4's social quickplay is now  a cross-play playlist. This will allow both Xbox One and PC players the chance to play against each other in competitive multiplayer.

- The next story based DLC for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will release on February 23 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Titled "A Criminal Past" the DLC will take place before the events of Mankind Divided and reveals Adam Jensen's first mission with TF29

- A new trailer for Overwatch's Year of the Rooster event released this week. The event runs until February 13 and includes new cosmetic items, and a new map, and game mode.


- Obsidian Entertainment's crowdfunding program for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire already reached its $1.1 million goal in under 23 hours with over 10,000 supporters. The game is scheduled to release something during the first quarter of 2018.

- Capcom revealed that Resident Evil 7 has shipped 2.5 million copies of the game to retail since it's launch on January 24.

- Bethesda announced that Prey will release on May 5 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Also, anyone who pre-orders the game will receive the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack. Check out brand new release date gameplay trailer.
