Mass Effect Andromeda News!
Fans of the Mass Effect series have no doubt been in heaven this week as new information, images, and a trailer has been released for the latest game in the series, Mass Effect Andromeda. Encase you've missed any of the news, check it out below.
The full story of Mass Effect Andromeda is still a mystery, but it's known that it takes place 600 years after the events of the first three Mass Effect games. Players will possibly take on the role of either twin siblings Scott or Sarah Ryder, the children of Alec Ryder. The game is also set in a new galaxy known as the....you guessed it, the Andromeda Galaxy. As a "Pathfinder" you are tasked with traveling and exploring the Andromeda Galaxy to in order to save humanity (thanks to the Reapers). The backstory surrounding the Ryder family will also be revealed throughout the game.
Shown below, box art of the game was also leaked online showcasing the deluxe and standard editions of the game.
Other information and features of Mass Effect Andromeda that have been released include:
- There will be a new game plus mode
- The campaign can be played offline
- None of the original Mass Effect trilogy crew members will be in Andromeda
- Your ship the Tempest won't need to be refueled
- Renegade and Paragon choices are gone, but similar options will be present
- Multiplayer will feature microtransactions to allow anyone to purchase card packs or earn them by playing the game normally
- New squadmates will be from the Andromeda species
- Loyalty missions will return but are optional
- Players won't pick their class, but fall into a class while building your skill tree
- Skill tree points can be reassigned to change your specializations
