Weekly Wrap Up! (8/6/16)
- Developer Eidos Montreal announced that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has officially gone gold. The game will release on August 23 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
- The latest Xbox One update was released earlier this week which added a slew of new features like: background music, Cortana voice functionality, UI improvements, Facebook integration, improved sharing of clips, screenshots, and more.
- Sony confirmed that PlayDead's hit indie game Inside will indeed be releasing for the PS4 on August 23.
- Red Barrels announced that Outlast 2 has been delayed until Q1 2017 in order to allow more time to work on the game.
- Excited for the PlayStation VR? Sony released a new teaser trailer showing off just some of the upcoming games that will be available on the PlayStation VR such as: EVE Valkyrie, Robinson, Farpoint, and more.
- Ubisoft confirmed that a film adaptation of The Division is in the works with both Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain starring in the film.
- Hello Games announced via Twitter that about a week before the launch, they had already completed the first update for No Man's Sky, not including the day one patch. The first update is said to contain new features and content.
- Final Fantasy XV will be getting a $30 season pass that contains six pieces of DLC, but it's unclear exactly what each DLC will contain.
- The rogue-like game Darkest Dungeon will release on PS4 and PS Vita on September 27. The console version will include updates released on the PC version and will cost $25, or $20 if you are a PlayStation Plus member. Finally, the game will support cross-buy and cross-save functionality between the PS4 and PS Vita.
- Developer Gamera Interactive revealed their first project called Unit 4. Unit 4 is a Xbox One exclusive, and features single player and up to four player co-op campaign modes. Each member of Unit 4 has special abilities and it's up to you to defeat aliens that stole artifacts from your planet. It's expected to arrive sometime early 2017.
- Reports have claimed that Nintendo will release a new Pokemon and Mario game within six months of the NX's launch. Nintendo has not commented on these reports as of now.
- If you're into card games and love The Elder Scrolls you'll be happy to know that Elder Scrolls: Legends is now in open beta on PC.
- The PS2 game Indigo Prophecy will be available in the PlayStation Store on August 9 and playable on the PS4. The updated version will be playable in 1080p and includes trophies.
- It was announced during QuakeCon that the beta for Quake Champions will be in 2017 and features 12 characters.
- Bethesda revealed the first gameplay trailer of their upcoming sci-fi action game Prey at QuakeCon. Check it out below!
- XCOM 2 has been delayed for Xbox One and PS4 for a few more weeks. It was originally scheduled to release on September 6, but will now release on September 27 in North America and September 30 internationally.
- The Publishing CEO of Activision stated that the majority of the team at Bungie are working on Destiny 2 and that it's still scheduled for a 2017 release date.
- While No Man's Sky is releasing on the PS4 on August 9, PC gamers will have to wait until August 12 to get their hands on the game.
- People love dinosaurs! Studio Wildcard revealed that the game Ark: Survival Evolved has sold 5.5 million copies with 4 million copies coming from the PC, and 1.5 million from the Xbox One.
- The first batch of DLC for Doom released this week. Called Unto the Evil, the DLC brings three new multiplayer maps, new armor sets, a new playable demon called the Harvester, and more. There's even a nice trailer to show off all the goods.
