Weekly Wrap Up! (7/8/16)
- Finally, Red Dead Redemption is backwards compatible on Xbox One! For anyone who doesn't have the game, it is now available to purchase on the Xbox One marketplace.
- A survey for Killer Instinct was found that shows possible upcoming characters to be added to the game. Some of the characters listed on the survey include a Halo Brute, Joanna Dark, a Crackdown Agent, and even a Lovecraftian character.
- Back during E3 Microsoft announced their Play Anywhere feature, and they recently confirmed that every game they specifically publish and was shown at E3 will support the feature. This will allow both Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of games to be cross-by and cross-play. The Play Anywhere feature will go live in September.
- Ubisoft revealed that the AR mini-games that were featured in Watch Dogs won't be returning in Watch Dogs 2. Ubisoft is wanting to have more city exploration where players can unlock side missions and secrets through the Nethack feature of the game.

- People must be excited for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard because the Beginning Hour demo became the most downloaded PS4 demo in North America during the first week, and has 2 million downloads globally. Resident Evil 7 is scheduled to release on January 24, 2017 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
- A recent FCC certification for a Sony wireless adapter has some believing it could be for the possibility of PC support for the Dualshock 4 controller via an official Sony branded adapter.
- Developer CD Projekt Red announced a Game of the Year edition for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which will include all free DLC and updates made to the game so far.
- A new patent filed by Nintendo reveals what looks to be like a new handheld device that features one central screen and touch interface. It's unknown if this is a brand new handheld gaming system, or part of the new NX console.
- Do you have a PS Vita and love watching game streams on Twitch? Well you're in luck! A Twitch app is no available to download on the PS Vita that allows people to watch and follow their favorite Twitch channels, but you can't stream from the PS Vita through the app.
- Square Enix revealed a box art image of the North American version of Final Fantasy XV. The cover is supposedly reversible and the back side features the game's logo over a black background. Check it out below.
- Developer Insomniac Games stated via Twitter that there is no release date for their upcoming PS4 Spider-Man game, and that they probably wouldn't be announcing a date anytime soon.
- Bethesda is releasing an Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition on September 9 for $60. The Gold Edition of the game will include the base game, a Palomino horse mount, and the following four DLC packs: Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Imperial City, and Orsinium.
- Capcom announced that Resident Evil 4 will release on Xbox One and PS4 on August 30 for $20. The re-release of Resident Evil 4 will include all bonus content released for the game and Mercenaries mode.
- The game Evolve was well...evolved. It's now been released as a free-to-play game on Steam. All existing owners of the game will have access to all content they've previously purchased. The new Evolve: Stage 2 will also introduce in game currency called silver keys, which can be used to unlock new hunters and monsters.
- Information regarding the next new Overwatch character has surfaced online and it appears the new character will be a sort of sniper/healer hybrid type. Thankfully fans won't have to wait long because Blizzard will be revealing the new character during the San Diego Comic Con later this month.
- The roguelike co-op game Necropolis has been delayed until later this summer for Xbox One and PS4. The PC version will still release on July 12.
