Game Spotlight: We Happy Few

In this week's Game Spotlight we look at the latest game from Compulsion Games called We Happy Few. In We Happy Few you play as a character living in an alternate 1960's England town called Wellington Wells where everyone is completely w happy. Well, that's what it appears like. 

The people of the town that seem to be happy and carefree are taking a drug known as Joy. Oh, and they're wearing creepy masks too. Your character realizes, as coming off the high of Joy, that the drug is just being used to hide a sinister and oppressed town. People who aren't taking their Joy are known as "Downers" and they are not looked upon kindly. So it's up to you to discover what exactly is going on and escape Wellington Wells. All the while trying to look "normal" and conform to the rest of the town in order to survive.

We Happy Few plays like a mix of survival, horror, and stealth games. Players will explore a procedurally-generated world where you'll have to eat, drink, sleep, steal, fight, and at times take Joy to survive. The game is available now through the Xbox Preview Program and features only a small part of the game. Compulsion Games have stated they will continue to build upon and update the game all the way up to its full release sometime next year. Check it out now on Xbox One and PC.
