Most Anticipated of E3 2016

It's June and gamers all around the world know what that means. It's the start of the usual summer time game drought. Oh yeah, and E3 is almost upon us! That's right, next week gamers will be glued to their TVs, computers, tablets, and other devices watching live streams and news updates on all the latest games, consoles, peripherals, and other new video game related content coming out this year and beyond. As usual, here's a little break down of what I'm looking forward to in regards of announcements from the big press conferences, as well as the games I'm most excited to see.

Microsoft Press Conference:

Recent rumors have crept up stating that Microsoft is not only planning on releasing an upgraded and more powerful Xbox One console early next year (code named Scorpion), but are also planning on releasing a more slim model Xbox One later this year. I'm interested to see what Microsoft will share in regards to both rumored console models, their components, and of course the price and release dates.

Last year Microsoft showed off a demo of the Hololens and from the tech demo it seems very impressive. I'd love to see a more in depth demo of the Hololens in action with different types of games, scenarios, and a hint at a release date and price point. Last year Microsoft made a big announcement with backwards compatibility of Xbox 360 games and I would love for them to finally announce that Red Dead Redemption will be backwards compatible soon! As far as new Xbox specific games, I'm hoping to see more of Crackdown 3, Gears of War 4, Scalebound, and ReCore.

Sony Press Conference:

I have no doubt that Sony will focus a large portion of their press conference highlighting the already widely anticipated PSVR headset. A couple months ago Sony announced the PSVR would release in October as well as a price for the base headset and a bundle edition. I'm looking forward to seeing more games being shown using the PSVR as well as other innovative ways it can be utilized.

Sony was suspected to talk more about the upgraded and more powerful PS4 (code named Neo) during their conference, but just recently, Andrew House confirmed that the Neo would not be at E3. I'm thinking they are waiting to see what Microsoft unveils, and will possibly show more on the Neo at Gamescom in August. In regards to PS4 specific games, I'm hoping to see more footage and information on Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Last Guardian.

The Games:

As usual there will be a ton of games shown during the conference next week, but here are some of the games that I am most excited, and hoping, to see and hear more about (no particular order):

For Honor
Battlefield 1
Destiny: Rise of Iron Expansion
Titanfall 2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Final Fantasy XV
Legend of Zelda Wii U
Dishonored 2
Mass Effect Andromeda
Outlast 2
Shadow Warrior 2
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Watch Dogs 2
