Weekly Wrap Up! (4/1/16)


- Final Fantasy XV will officially release on September 30 worldwide on Xbox One and PS4. A deluxe version with steelbook case, and bonus outfit and weapons for Noctis' car will also be available for $89.99.

- According to the Wall Street Journal, an announcement about the rumored PlayStation 4.5 will be made before the PlayStation VR launches in October. Sony has yet to comment.

- According to Night Dive Studios, the remastered versions of Turok and Turok 2 are coming to Xbox One.

- Executive Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment commented that due to the similar nature of components of the PlayStation 4 and PC, it could be a possibility that the PlayStation VR could be used on the PC in the future.

- Rumors are claiming that the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise (due this year) will be very science fiction and include space combat and will not be a sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts. Infinity Ward has not commented on the rumor.

- Metal Gear Solid 5 will be getting a survival mode added to the online mode next week. The survival mode will have teams of six trying to earn a five match win streak to earn rewards. The survival mode will accessible 10 times a week for players who don't own the Cloaked in Silence DLC. If you own the DLC (priced at $3.99) you can play the survival mode as much as you want.

- A cool new live action trailer for Quantum Break was released showing more about the game's enemies.


- Bethesda released a beta for a the new survival mode in Fallout 4 on PC through Steam. The survival mode is scheduled to release on Xbox One and PS4 this month.

- The PlayStation 4 exclusive Shadow of the Beast will release in North America on May 17 and preorders will be available soon.

- Microsoft announced that with a free update scheduled this summer, any retail Xbox One will become a development kit. Other features in the update include adding the Cortana voice assistant to the Xbox One and the ability to play music in the background while playing games.

- The free PlayStation Plus games for April were announced. The PS4 will be getting Zombi and Dead Star. The PS3 will be getting Savage Moon and I Am Alive, and finally A Virus Named Tom and Shutshimi will be available on the PS Vita.

- A free survival mode will be released on Far Cry Primal on April 12. The mode will include a permadeath feature, stamina gauge, no ability to have your pet owl attack enemies, and the mini map is turned off.

- A new basketball mode in Rocket League called "Hoops" will be released sometime in April.

- The next PlayStation exclusive weapon for Destiny will be in the April 12 update. The Zen Meteor is an exotic sniper rifle and will be available on both PS4 and PS3.

- The new "Ignite" trailer for Homefront: The Revolution was released this week.
