Most Anticipated Games of 2016
2016 is officially in full swing and with a new year brings new games to anxiously await their arrival and the great times they will bring. Here's a list of some of the most anticipated games of this year along with their release date, available platform, and trailer or gameplay video. Get ready for a fantastic year of gaming!
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (April 26, 2016 - PS4)
Everyone's favorite smooth talking, fun seeking, relic hunter is back for more adventures and it's about time. The Uncharted series has always not only looked fantastic, but has also always had fantastic characters, dialogue, stories, and of course non-stop action.
Tom Clancy's The Division (March 8, 2016 - Xbox One, PS4, and PC)
Tom Clancy's The Division puts players in the role of an agent in a post virus outbreak in New York City. The game features RPG-elements such as skill trees, weapon progression, customizations, and more. Players can go it alone, but the game will take a much more fun and effective stance when teaming up with friends to complete missions and scour the city for items. There will also be a PvP specific zone where players can battle against other actual players for even more intense action.
For Honor (TBA 2016 - Xbox One, PS4, and PC)
For Honor will give players a taste of what it would be like if vikings, samurais, and medieval knights fought against each other. That's right, through competitive matches, players can choose from vikings, knights, and samurais and go head to head in brutal combat. Each faction has different weapons, fighting styles, and players can even customize their warriors.
Gears of War 4 (Holiday 2016 - Xbox One)
The Gears of War series has always been about two things: awesome action and taking out the locust horde. Oh, and the Lancer a.k.a. " the chainsaw gun." The latest game to the series looks to bring new characters to the story, and hopefully some returning favorites. Looking at you Marcus Fenix!
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (August 23, 2016 - Xbox One, PS4, and PC)
Who doesn't love cyberpunk science fiction filled with cybernetically augmented humans, corruption, and justice dealt by Adam Jensen? Thankfully we'll get to enjoy more of the stealth, RPG-elements, and just plain awesomeness tech later this year.
The Last Guardian (TBA 2016 - PS4)
This game has been in development and limbo for a long time, but thankfully The Last Guardian is indeed coming out sometime this year. The atmosphere looks and feels very similar to Ico and Shadow of The Colossus so be prepared for beautifully scenery, puzzles, and a story and characters that stick with you for a long time.
Quantum Break (April 5, 2016 - Xbox One)
Remedy Entertainment (the developers of Alan Wake) are bringing a very stylized third person, time manipulation, action game to the Xbox One this year and it looks fantastic. It's also worth noting that the game also contains a digital television show that is intertwined within the game. That sounds very interesting and awesome.
Crackdown 3 (TBA 2016 - Xbox One)
The Crackdown series is all about over the top action, destruction, super powered agents, and of course; collecting those orbs. The developers have also stated the environment in the game is 100% destructible. It's beginning to become a challenge waiting to play it.
Horizon Zero Dawn (TBA 2016 - PS4)
When this game was revealed at E3 it was easy to be captivated and pretty much blown away. The gorgeous looking environments, stealth elements, and large mechanical enemies has definitely put this game on the map.
So now that you've seen this list, what games are you looking forward to the most this year?
