Weekly Wrap Up! (11/7/15)
- Blizzard announced that their upcoming shooter Overwatch will be releasing on the Xbox One and PS4 in Spring 2016.
- Konami announced a new game in the Contra series is being developed on iOS and Android specifically for the Chinese market.
- Treyarch revealed that beginning in 2016 (possibly March 2016), mapping and modding capabilities will be available for the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
- Despite Batman: Arkham Knight being re-released on PC, some players are still claiming issues with frame rate, freezing, and other issues are still happening. Due to this, Warner has stated they will continue to fully refund the PC version of the game through the end of 2015.
- Sony announced that they have added 105 more titles to their cloud streaming service PlayStation Now. Some of the games added include Resident Evil titles, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD, Street Fighter, and more.
- Activision revealed that there are currently 25 million registered players in the world of Destiny, and that on average, players are spending three hours within the game each day.
- Microsoft has stated that the demand for the new Xbox One Elite controller is high and stores are selling out nationwide. Microsoft said gamers may expect to see a shortage of the Elite controller until early December, but new shipments are being sent each week.
- Microsoft is planning on announcing the first 100 Xbox 360 games that will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One on November 9.
- PlayStation 4 owners will be able to purchase avatars from the PlayStation Store beginning next week. Any avatars previously purchased on the PS3 will carry over.
- Microsoft and 343 Industries revealed that Halo 5: Guardians has already sold over $400 million worldwide in game and hardware sales which makes it the biggest launch in the history of the series.
- 2K Games revealed two new editions of Evolve and Borderlands. The Evolve Ultimate Edition includes the game and DLC. It's already available on Xbox One and PS4 for $60. The Borderlands Triple Pack will include Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and DLC from all three games. It will be available on November 17 on Xbox One and PS4 for $50.
- Fallout themed cars are coming to Forza Motorsport 6. All Forza Motorsport 6 players can get the Fallout 4 themed 1956 Ford F100 right now, and anyone who buys the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 will get the Chryslus Rocket 69 Coupe soon. Here's a clip of the 1956 Ford F100.
- EA announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will release for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on February 23, 2016 in North America, and February 25 in Europe. Anyone who pre-orders the game will get the special Grass Effect Z7 Mech suit to use in game.
- Fans of the Witcher series may be excited to hear that a movie based on the games is being developed and scheduled for a 2017 release date.
- Battleborn has been delayed until May 3, 2016. The game was originally suppose to release on February 9.
- Early access to DayZ through the Xbox One's Preview Program has been delayed until sometime in early 2016.
- Beginning December 1, anyone who purchased a copy of Gears of War Ultimate Edition will begin receiving codes from Microsoft to download copies of Gears of War 1-3 and Gears of War: Judgement. Anyone who hasn't purchased Gears of War Ultimate Edition has until December 31 to get the codes for the free games.
