Weekly Wrap Up! (9/18/15)
- Sony revealed four new PS4 controllers at the Tokyo Game Show. The controller colors range from gold, silver, steel black, and crystal. The gold, silver and black controllers will be available on November 6 with limited numbers, and the crystal controller will launch on December 3. Only the gold and silver controllers have been announced for Europe, but don't rule them out for releasing in other territories.
- Bandai Namco announced that Dark Souls 3 will release on March 24 in Japan, but no word on when the game will release elsewhere.
- Yakuza 6 will release sometime in Fall of 2016 and will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
- Sega announced that they are delaying the release of the 3DS game Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice until sometime in 2016.
- You can get yourself a Han Solo themed mini-fridge along with the deluxe edition of Star Wars Battlefront from Walmart for $130. The mini-fridge holds up to six cans of soda and features a decal of the carbonite frozen Han Solo on the front.
- The contents of Just Cause 3's expansion pass were revealed. The Air, Land, and Sea expansion pass will include 3 add-on packs, which pass holders will get seven days earlier, and an exclusive flame wingsuit and parachute skins.
- The Xbox One Elite controller will release on October 27.
- 343 Industries confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians will run consistently at 60 frames per second.
- The first expansion for Bloodborne has been announced. Known as The Old Hunters, the expansion includes new areas to explore, new enemies, weapons, outfits, rewards, and more. The Old Hunters expansion will release on November 24 for $20. Enjoy the trailer below.
- Two Xbox One exclusive JRPG's were announced during the Tokyo Game Show. The first game is a dungeon crawler called Stranger of Sword City and is expected to release sometime in Spring 2016. The other game is a tactical style game similar to Fire Emblem and Shinning Force known as Students of the Round 2. It isn't expected to release until late 2016 or even early 2017.
- The PS4 received a price drop in Japan of and now costs about $293. No word from Sony on whether or not the PS4 will drop in price in other territories as well.
- Ubisoft announced that Rainbow Six Siege will launch with 11 maps, and that all post launch maps will be available to download for free.
- An Assassin's Creed Syndicate PS4 bundle was revealed. The bundle will include a 1TB PS4, a physical copy of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and a digital copy of Watch Dogs.
- The space action-adventure game Rebel Galaxy will release for the PC on October 20, and is scheduled to release on Xbox One, PS4, and Mac later this year.
- Sony is removing the Facebook features from the PS3, PS Vita, and PlayStation TV. As of now, the Facebook app is no longer downloadable on the PS Vita and PlayStation TV. Sony said support is scheduled to continue until January 2016.
- The multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will run from December 4 - 13. Anyone who buys a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will get access to the beta.
- The PS4 and PC puzzle game The Witness has a new trailer and a release date of January 26, 2016.
