Weekly Wrap Up! (8/8/15)


- Love Fallout and have a PS4? If you pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store you will get a special "Fallout 4 Garage Theme" to make you console fancy in that wasteland motif.

- Remedy announced that their time bending action game Quantum Break will release on April 5, 2016 on Xbox One.

- Bungie stated that the light leveling system in Destiny will go away when the Taken King expansion releases on September 15. Instead of using gear with light, players will level from 1 to 40 by completing missions, bounties, and killing enemies.

- The Mega Man style game Mighty No. 9 has been delayed until early 2016. The game was originally supposed to release on September 15 in North America and September 18 in Europe.

- Love Halo and haven't picked up a Xbox One yet? Well you're in luck because a Halo 5: Guardians themed Xbox One bundle was announced. The bundle includes a Halo themed 1TB Xbox One console and controller, and a digital copy of Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition. You can pre-order the bundle now and it will be available on October 20 for $499.99.


 - Destiny's community manager Deej revealed that when the Taken King expansion releases, there will be a one-time use consumable that will allow players to boost a character's level in order to skip passed the initial level grinding of the game.

- CD Projekt Red's CEO shared that The Witcher 4 won't be coming anytime soon stating that they haven't even thought what to do in the game and that the series "deserves some rest." 

- A new game mode for Star Wars Battlefront was revealed at Gamescom. The new aerial combat mode called "Fighter Squadron Mode" puts Rebel Alliance and Empire players against each other in X-Wings, A-Wings, TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, and even the Millennium Falcon and Slave I.  Take a look at the trailer below.



- Fans of the Crackdown series will be happy to know that Crackdown 3 has been scheduled to release in summer 2016. 

- While a specific date hasn't been announced, it was revealed that Final Fantasy XV will release sometime in 2016.

- Activision confirmed that World of Warcraft has lost 1.5 million subscribers and currently has 5.6 subscribers. Activision hopes that the release of the large update Fury of the Hellfire will help keep players and bring more back.

- Microsoft revealed that the Xbox One will be able to use a full subscription free DVR service sometime in 2016. The DVR feature will require an external hard drive as Microsoft states that will optimize storage paths (internal to external) from playing games and watching TV.

- In more World of Warcraft news, the newest full expansion was announced at Gamescom. Known as World of Warcraft: Legion, the new expansion centers around the Burning Legion and features a level cap raise to 110, new artifact weapons, new honor system, and of course new dungeons and raids. A release date hasn't been announced, but a beta will be released later this year.


- Developer Perfect World shared that their free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter has hit over 2.1 million players on Xbox One.

- Activision revealed that gamers have played over 2 billion hours of Destiny since launch. It was also shared that over the 20 million players, that averages to about 100 hours of game time per person. Keep it up guardians!

- Sony revealed a special edition of the upcoming Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. The special edition comes with a steel game case, stickers, and an art book. As of now the special edition is set to release in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia.
