Weekly Wrap Up! (8/29/15)


- Google released YouTube Gaming this week. The video game dedicated service will support videos, live streams, and over 25,000 gaming pages. People are calling this Google's version or competitor to Twitch.

- The PlayStation Plus games for September were revealed. For the PS4 players can download Grow Home, Xeodrifter, Teslagrad, and Super TIME Force Ultra. Those games (except Grow Home) will also be available on the PS Vita along with La-Mulana EX. Finally, players can download Twisted Metal on the PS3.

- Rock Band 4 will cost $60 for the PS4, but $80 on the Xbox One. The reason is because the Xbox One version will come with a required "legacy game controller adapter" in order to allow existing Xbox 360 instruments to work. The PS3 instruments will work with the PS4 without the adapter.

- The Wii U exclusive horror game Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will release the first two chapters for free on the eShop on October 22. The full version of the game will be available for purchase on the eShop or within the game as DLC later on.

- Nintendo announced that Star Fox Zero will release on November 20 in both North America and Europe. The official box art was released too.


 - A patent for a disc-less game system was discovered. There is no news stating this has anything to do with their upcoming console code named the NX.

- The free Games with Gold titles for September were announced. Xbox One owners will be able to download The Deer God and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Xbox 360 owners will be able to download Battlestations: Pacific and Crysis 3.

- Microsoft announced that they will begin limiting how many people can join the Xbox One Preview program due to the high number of applicants. Microsoft said that limiting the amount of people in the program will help optimize testing.

- Square Enix revealed the Rise of the Tomb Raider collector's edition. It's available only on the Official Tomb Raider Store or the Square Enix e-store. As of now it's only confirmed for the Xbox One and includes a steel game case, 12 inch Lara statue, and a replica of the jade necklace and Lara's journal.


- CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold six million copies within the first six weeks of release.

- The PC version of Assassin's Creed Syndicate will release on November 19, which is later than the console versions. Ubisoft said the delay is to ensure the launch of the game is smooth.

- Bungie announced that Xbox One and PS4 owners will need to have at least 60GB of free space on their hard drives for Destiny. The mandatory update launches on September 8, regardless if players are buying the Taken King expansion. Bungie has stated that the file size for the Taken King expansion alone is 18GB. 

- The next expansion for Neverwinter will release on Xbox One on September 8. Titled "Elemental Evil" the new expansion increases the level cap, introduces the new Oathbound Paladin class, new dungeons, and new adventure zones.

- A demo for Forza Motorsport 6 will release on Xbox One on September 1. Those who play the demo will get the new Ford GT to use in the full game upon purchase. Forza Motorsport 6 releases on September 15.


- In less than 12 hours, the Kickstarter for Divinity: Original Sin 2 already met it's $500,000 goal.

- Rocket League has been a huge success and has sold over one million copies on PC.

- Warner Bros. announced that Mortal Kombat X for the Xbox 360 and PS3 has been cancelled due to the game not living up to the standards of the current gen versions available.

- Avalanche Studios confirmed that Mad Max with run at 1080p on both Xbox One and PS4.

- Telltale games announced they will also be bringing the episodic game Minecraft: Story Mode to the Wii U. Minecraft: Story Mode was previously announced for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC, iOS, and Android. Check out the trailer below!
