Weekly Wrap Up! (5/8/15)


- DICE revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront will include 12 multiplayer maps at launch in November. DICE also mentioned that this does not include the maps for the co-op mission mode. Hoth, Endor, and Sullust have been mentioned as locations.

- Sega announced that they will not have a booth at this year's E3, but there upcoming games will still be displayed at the expo.

- Activision announced that Destiny has reached 20 million players.

- Spark, the developer of Lost Planet 3 and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, has officially shut down.

- Machine Games released the stand alone expansion Wolfenstein: The Old Blood this week on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Check out the trailer below!


- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will release sometime later this year and will release on the Xbox One and PS4 first, followed by the Xbox 360 and PS3 version sometime later.

- The action platformer Rogue Legacy will be released on Xbox One on May 27.

- Blizzard Entertainment revealed that their popular card game Hearthstone has reached 30 million players.

- Nvidia announced that anyone who purchases either the GeForce GTX 970 or 980 PC graphics card will receive a free copy of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight.

- Bungie showed off the Prison of Elders arena mode during their Twitch stream earlier this week. Now they've released a trailer to continue to hype the House of Wolves expansion. Check out the trailer below guardians.


- EA announced that people shouldn't expect to see Titanfall 2 until sometime in the company's 2017 fiscal year which runs between April 2016 through March 2017.

- Rumors are circulating the interwebs that Bethesda will announce Fallout 4 at the end of their E3 press conference. Also according to the rumors, a 20-30 minute demo of the game will be shown at a behind closed doors event. Bethesda has not commented on the rumor as of now.

- A trademark filed by Bungie shows what could be the rumored (and large) Destiny expansion titled as "The Taken King." The large expansion is rumored to release in September and the following logo was discovered.

 

- Rumors are popping up that the Xbox One will be getting a TV recording/DVR feature sometime later this year. Microsoft has not commented or confirmed this as of now.

- Sony announced that they will not hold a press conference at the 2015 Gamescon due to the timing of both Gamescon and E3. Sony said they will make announcements at the Paris Games Week on October 27.

- Capcom stated that they are expecting to release Street Fighter 5 on the PS4 and PC by March 2016.

- The Wii U has sold 9.5 million units worldwide, and Mario Kart 8 has sold just over 5 million units since its launch.

- The latest Witcher 3: Wild Hunt trailer titled "Rage and Steel" shows off more of Geralt's fearsome attacks, as well as a brief glimpse of the female character Ciri. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases May 19 on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
