Weekly Wrap Up! (5/29/15)


- The new Arena mode was released on Evolve this week and it's free. In Arena, a team of hunters will face off against a stage 2 monster in a best out of three battle inside a, well you guessed it, an enclosed arena.

- The horror game Until Dawn will release on August 25 in North America, August 26 in most other countries, and August 28 in UK and Ireland. Anyone who pre-orders the game will unlock a special bonus scene in the game.

- Can't get enough Resident Evil? Well then you're in luck because Capcom announced that Resident Evil Zero HD will release in early 2016 on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.

- Developer Slightly Mad Studios have commented that they are having trouble successfully running the Project Cars port on the Wii U. Currently the game has been tested and running at 23 fps at 720p, and the developer stated they were concerned they may have to lower the graphics to help the game run smoothly. Slightly Mad Studios commented that the Wii U version of the game was never a sure thing, and if they can't get the game running as it should they will wait until Nintendo releases their next console.

- The Mortal Kombat X Tanya character Kombat Pack will release on June 2 for Kombat Pack owners, and on June 9 as a separate purchase.

- Microsoft revealed a new Xbox One controller will be released in June that includes a 3.5mm headphone port in the base. An image of the new "Covert Forces" controller was posted online.

- A Game of the Year edition of Lords of The Fallen will release on June 26. The GOTY edition will include the Demonic Weapon and Lionheart pack, Ancient Labyrinth DLC, and new weapons and armor.

- A rumor is floating around that Microsoft is in talks with Konami to purchase the rights to and release Silent Hills as a Xbox One exclusive. 

- Sony released the free PlayStation Plus games for the month of June. On the PS4 you can download Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, Skulls of the Shogun: Bonafide Edition, Futuridium EP, and Super Exploding Zoo. The PS3 will get Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom. Finally, the PS Vita will also get Futuridium EP and Super Exploding Zoo.

- The Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Mortal Kombat X has been delayed from this summer to sometime later this year.

- Spotted on Steam, a pre-order bonus for Batman: Arkham Knight was spotted this week. The pre-order bonus is the Gotham's Future Skin Pack, which includes Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns and the Batman Beyond costumes.

- Carbine Studios confirmed that the MMO WildStar will be going free to play sometime later this year.

- The free Games With Gold for the month of June were announced this week. For the Xbox One you'll be able to download Massive Chalice and Pool Nation FX. On the Xbox 360 you can download Just Cause 2 at the beginning of the month, followed by Thief at the later part of June.

- Sony confirmed that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will release before April 2016.

- Ubisoft revealed that Assassin's Creed Syndicate will not have a companion app like other games in the series. They said the decision was made because they wanted to put all their focus on the core game experience.

- EA confirmed on Twitter that the new Need for Speed game will require an online connection in order to play, but in doing so will offer more variety and a rewarding experience.

- Respawn Entertainment announced that they will not be showing anything at E3 this year. So no Titanfall 2 reveal.

- As you continue to anxiously await the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, feast your eyes on the "Time To Go To War" gameplay trailer.
