Weekly Wrap Up! (5/15/15)
- CD Projekt RED announced that on day one, the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will incorporate "dynamic scaling" that will bring the game's 900p resolution up to 1080p in certain areas.
- The Division has been delayed until early 2016. Ubisoft has stated the game has been delayed until their 2016 fiscal year which ends in March 2016.
- Microsoft confirmed that their E3 2015 press conference will be held on Monday, June 15 at 9:30am PDT.
- The action RPG Divinity: Original Sin is coming to the Xbox One and PS4 this year. The Enhanced Edition will include both online and local co-op, new interface, new quests, and more. An official release date hasn't been announced as of now.
- Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin's Creed Syndicate. The latest game in the series is set in 1868 London, is single player only, and players will get to play as twins Jacob and Evie Frye. Assassin's Creed Syndicate will release on Xbox One and PS4 on October 23, and later in the year for PC. Check out the reveal trailer.
- The latest Xbox One system update was released this week. Some of the notable features in the update includes the ability to finally send voice messages between both Xbox One and Xbox 360 players, dedicated servers for party chat, and the ability to turn your console either on or off with the SmartGlass app.
- The final DLC for The Evil Within will release on May 26. The DLC is titled "The Executioner" and it lets players play as The Keeper, and is viewed in a first person perspective.
- Feel like cheating in Guild Wars 2? Think again! The developers of the game caught wind of a player who was cheating and stripped the player's character down to their underwear, made them publicly wave to other players, and then caused their character to jump off a castle wall to their death. Then, the player's character was deleted and their accounts were banned. Check out the video below.
- The Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on June 23 for $24.99. Anyone who pre-orders the game will get special costumes for characters Lady and Trish, and the PS4 version will get a custom theme.
- As if everyone didn't already know The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was popular, developer CD Projekt RED announced that the game has reached over 1 million pre-orders.
- The free to play MMORPG Neverwinter has over 1.6 million players on Xbox One, and developer Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios announced that they will be releasing five free expansions for the game by the end of 2015.
- Ubisoft already revealed the collector's edition of Assassin's Creed Syndicate this week. The collector's edition of the game includes a statue of Jacob Frye, poster of London, art book, soundtrack, exclusive in game mission, and the season pass.
- Sony announced that they will hold their E3 2015 press conference on Monday, June 15 at 6:00pm PDT.
- It was announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth sold over 1.6 million copies since its release.
- Ubisoft shared that they wouldn't be developing all of their games for the Xbox 360 or PS3 anymore. While games like Just Dance will still be released on the last gen consoles, but games like Assassin's Creed, The Division, and Rainbow Six will only be available on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
