Weekly Wrap Up! (4/4/15)


- Mortal Kombat director Ed Boon announced that players will be able to try out DLC characters in special towers in Mortal Kombat X. In the game, there will be three types of towers. One tower will change every hour, one each day, and the other tower is known as a Premiere Tower. A specific DLC character will be featured and made playable for free, for a certain amount of time in those towers.

- The free PlayStation Plus games for April were announced earlier this week. On the PS4 players can download Never Alone, Tower of Guns, and Aaru's Awakening. The PS3 will be getting Tower of Guns, Aaru's Awakening, and Dishonored. Finally the PS Vita will get the awesome Killzone: Mercenary and MonsterBag.

- The Rainbow Six Siege collector's edition was revealed. Known as the Art of Siege Edition, it contains a collector's game box, 120 page tactical guide, and gold skins for all in game weapons. The Art of Siege Edition will only release in Europe.


 - Last week the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC "Jaws of Hakkon" was released on the Xbox One and PC. Bioware announced that the DLC will be releasing on PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360 sometime in May.

- Microsoft announced that Halo 5: Guardians will release on October 27, 2015.

- Developer Black Tusk Studios tweeted a teaser photo of an actor in a motion capture suit holding a gun from Gears of War. The studio is currently working on the next Gears of War game and have said it will only be releasing on Xbox One, and not the Xbox 360. No other information has been released.

 
- Slightly Mad Studios confirmed that during the first months of Project Cars release, players will receive a series of free DLC vehicles. Project Cars is set to release sometime in May.

- Love PlayStation? Love music? Good! Sony announced their partnering with Spotify into the PlayStation Music app. The app is available now on PS4 and PS3 in 41 markets, and best of all you don't have to have a PlayStation Plus or premium Spotify account to access it. One awesome feature is you can create your own soundtrack and have it played during gameplay, but all in game dialogue and ambient sounds will remain in the game.

- A special Batman: Arkham Knight themed PS4 has been announced. The bundle will include the special themed PS4 console, matching DualShock 4 controller, and a copy of the game. The special bundle will cost $450.


-The Senior Game Designer of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt said that it would take players over 200 hours to complete everything in the game.

- Microsoft announced that they would be delaying Quantum Break until 2016. The reason for the delay was because Microsoft felt that they already have a lot of exclusive games launching this fall and didn't want it to become too crowded with game launches.
