Weekly Wrap Up! (3/27/15)


- Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed, but only for a few weeks. The game will now launch on June 23.

- Ubisoft announced that anyone who pre-orders Rainbow Six Siege for the Xbox One, PS4, or PC will be able to play in the game's closed beta. No official date on the beta has been released at this time. Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to release sometime this year.

 - The latest software update for the PS4 was released this week. Update 2.50 brings many features such as the ability to pause a game by putting the PS4 in rest mode, then resume your game by pressing the PS button on the controller. Another feature in the update is the ability to restore a hard disc (including save files, settings, screenshots, videos, etc.) to an external USB drive.

- Turtle Rock Studios will be releasing a new patch for Evolve next week for the Xbox One and PS4. Some of the notable issues addressed in the patch will be tweaks to the Wraith monster such as decreasing the warp speed by 25 percent, and the supernova ability duration has been reduced by 50 percent. - Bioware released a new batch of DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition titled Jaws of Hakkon. The DLC is available now on the Xbox One and PC.


- While YouTube did not purchase Twitch last year, it looks like they will still try to make their way as a video game streaming service. The revamped YouTube Live is set to start broadcasting eSports and other gaming content.

- Microsoft revealed the free Games With Gold games for the month of April. To celebrate more than 100 million games being downloaded on Xbox, Microsoft is offering double the number of free games for the month of April. For the Xbox One players can download Child of Light and Pool Nation FX. For the Xbox 360 players can download Terraria, Gears of War: Judgement, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Army of Two: Devil's Cartel.

- A brand new Mass Effect Mash-Up pack has been released for Minecraft for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. The pack costs $4 and allows players to explore the Mars facility from Mass Effect 3, craft items from the series, and includes 36 character skins and 22 music tracks.

- A release software update for the PS Vita was released this week. A notable feature in the 3.50 update is the ability to stream remote play sessions in 60 frames per second.

- NetherRealm Studios announced that members of the WB Play customer rewards program will get access to a special day one Raiden costume in Mortal Kombat X. Check out the image of the costume below...a little Tron-esque no? 


- Microsoft announced a couple more new features for the Xbox One April software update. One additional update announced was that players will be able to send and receive voice messages. Finally! The other additional update is that dedicated servers for party chat will be used to enhance reliability and quality. 

- Sadly, Nintendo announced that there are no plans to show The Legend of Zelda for Wii U at this year's E3, and that the game is no longer set to release in 2015.

- Bungie announced that with the 1.1.2 Destiny update in April, player's vaults will increase. Players will be able to store 36 weapons, 24 armor pieces, and 24 miscellaneous items.  

- As if you needed a reason to watch more Batman: Arkham Knight footage, check out the awesome seven minute long gameplay footage that was released earlier this week. Only a few more months!
