Weekly Wrap Up! (12/19/14)
- Developer CD Projekt Red revealed the second playable character in The Witcher 3 to be Ciri. Ciri is from an elven lineage but not much information on her play style has been released. CD Projekt Red has said that players will not be able to switch between Ciri and Geralt, but Ciri will be playable only in certain sections of the game.
- Love Dante? Good! Capcom announced that two remastered Devil May Cry games will be released next year. The DmC: Definitive Edition will include DmC: Devil May Cry, all DLC and will also run at 1080p and 60fps. The DmC: Definitive Edition will release on March 17, 2015 for the PS4 and Xbox One for $39.99. The other remastered game is Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, but no details have been released at this time.
- Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has been announced and is set in modern Eastern Europe. The game is scheduled to release sometime in 2016 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
- The Lord of the Hunt DLC for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was released this week on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The DLC gives players the chance to fight new warchiefs, ride a wretched Graug, Caragath, new missions, challenges, and more. The DLC is part of the season pass or can be purchased for $10 separately. Take a look at the trailer below.
- Autobots, roll out! The MMO Transformers Universe, while still in beta, will officially shut down on January 31, 2015. Developer Jagex said they will be refunding any beta testers who purchased in game starter packs or relics.
- Several new media apps have been added to the Xbox One's library of apps and services. The new apps are: Vevo, Pandora, Telemundo Now (US only), Bravo Now, and Popcornflix.
- Ubisoft released a huge update for Assassin's Creed Unity this week. The 6.7 GB update fixes whole sections of the game and is set to help the stability, frame rate, and online connectivity of the game.
- While no detailed information has been announced, it has been confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 is in the early stages of development.
- Rockstar Games announced that GTA 5 will be getting the online cooperative heist missions in early 2015. They also released a trailer to get you even more excited for it. Check it out!
- Lords of the Fallen will be coming to iOS and Android sometime in 2015 and is not a port, but a new game set in the same universe.
- The Evolve open beta will be coming exclusively to the Xbox One starting on January 15 and ending on January 19. Players will get access to Evolve's campaign mode known as Evacuation during the beta along with the traditional Hunt mode.
- A recent update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare gives players daily supply drop challenges. Players will receive a challenge each day that when completed will give them supply drops, bonus XP, and exclusive recon gear for customization.
- Reports are surfacing that Microsoft will finally unveil their rumored virtual reality headset during their E3 2015 press conference.
- Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that Nintendo is working on ideas for their next console.
- Activision revealed the Exo Zombies DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The DLC will include Rose McGowan, John Bernthal, John Malkovich, and Bill Paxton as Atlas employees trying to survive the zombie onslaught and will be available first on Xbox in January. Enjoy the trailer below.
