Weekly Wrap Up! (4/11/14)
- Ubisoft announced that The Crew will release this fall for the Xbox
One, PS4, and PC. It was also announced that both the PS4 and Xbox One
version will run at 1080p and 30 fps.
- Microsoft released an update to the Xbox One YouTube app that allows players to automatically upload their gameplay videos to YouTube. The update also allows YouTube videos to be watched in snap mode.
- Sony Online Entertainment revealed their upcoming free to play zombie MMO called H1Z1 for the PS4. In the game players are placed in a open world that has been almost wiped out due to a zombie virus, and it's up to players to survive as long as possible. A live stream of a play test is scheduled for next week but no official release date has been announced.
- The new PS Vita "slim" model will release on May 6 in North America and will cost $199.
- Borderlands 2 will officially release on the PS Vita on May 13 in North America. The release date for other areas has not been announced yet. Anyone who purchases the Borderlands 2 PS Vita bundle can start playing the game early when the bundle releases on May 6.
- The Wii U version of Watch Dogs has been delayed until fall 2014.
- It was announced that the Pokemon X and Y games for the Nintendo 3DS have sold 12 million units.
- Bethesda announced the first content patch for The Elder Scrolls Online will release sometime later this month. The patch will include the zone of Craglorn that offers a new storyline and challenging gameplay for veteran groups of 4-12 players. The trailer for the content patch is below.
- Microsoft confirmed they are still working on a plan to allow Xbox 360 games to be playable on the Xbox One through an emulator. No official release date or other info has been given.
- The full version of Crytek's free to play shooter Warface will release on April 22 on the the Xbox 360.
- Developer Housemarque posted a tweet on their Twitter account that teases possible DLC or an update to the PS4 hit Resogun. No official announcement has been made, but the tweet reads, "Imagine RESOGUN, right? Now imagine it so much better than you almost forget how good the original was. That. Is. Coming."
- The Watch Dogs season pass has been revealed. The season pass costs $20 and will give players access to a special single player mission, a new playable character, and other weapons and missions.
- Sony confirmed that The Last of Us Remastered will be coming to the PS4 sometime during summer 2014.
- Sony announced that inFAMOUS: Second Son sold over one million copies globally within the first nine days after it launched.
- Capybara Games has announced that their game Below will also be releasing on the PC through Steam along with the Xbox One version.
- In the need of an action RPG fix? Well Bound by Flame may be just what you're looking for. Developer Spiders Studio just released a new combat trailer today. Bound by Flame will release on May 9 for the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
