Weekly Wrap Up! (1/24/14)
- Microsoft announced that Fable Trilogy will release on February 4 in North America and February 7 in Europe. Fable Trilogy will include Fable Anniversary, Fable II, and Fable III.
- Microsoft said that they will be looking over their pricing for digital games and may be lowering the prices to make them more competitive.
- Disney abandoned the trademark for the game Star Wars 1313. So unless Disney decides to start development on the game again in the future, we won't be seeing this game.
- During a press conference, Nintendo shared that while the smartphone market continues to grow, they have no plans to release games for smartphones as it would have a negative impact on the 3DS.
- Rumors are spreading that Nintendo is working on a next gen console called the "Nintendo Fusion." The rumors point to the new console being paired with a new handheld device with the names "Fusion DS" and "Fusion Terminal."
- Developer Housemarque announced on the Resogun Facebook page that they are currently working on dlc for the game and also on an unannounced PS4 game. Unfortunately they did not say when the dlc or the new game would be released.
- Respawn Entertainment shared via Twitter that Titanfall would not have microtransactions and that there was no news about a season pass.
- Alienware shared that they plan on releasing a new steam machine every year and that their steam machines will be upgradeable but it will not be easy to do so.
- The ESRB has given The Elder Scrolls Online a M rating, which was not what Bethesda was expecting. Bethesda stated that while they were hoping for a T rating they won't change any of the game's content.
- Marcin Iwinski (CEO of CD Projekt Red) has said it would be impossible to make Witcher 3 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. He said in doing so the game would be smaller scaled, have long load times, and take a hit in the graphics.
- Guerrilla Games announced that clan features are being added to Killzone: Shadow Fall. The first clan addition will release in February in the 1.09 patch. This will include the ability to create clans, clan tags, and the ability to add, remove, or promote clan members. The other clan abilities are set to release in multiple waves as part of game patches.
- The first dlc for The Last of Us is set to release on February 14 for $14.99 and is titled "Left Behind." Take a look at the opening cinematic below.
