Weekly Wrap Up! (11/8/13)

- EA announced that they would be releasing Need for Speed: Rivals a little earlier on the PS4. Instead of releasing the game on November 19, the game will now release on the PS4's launch day in North America (November 15). The Xbox One version will still release on the Xbox One's launch day of November 22.

- Nintendo announced that the Wii Mini will be released in the United States by mid November. The Wii Mini will come with Mario Kart Wii and will cost $100.

- Microsoft announced a car pass for Forza Motorsport 5. The car pass will cost $50 and will include access to different car packs. Each pack will contain 10 cars, and the first car pack will release at the game's launch on November 22.

- Sony released an update to the PS Vita. The 3.00 update offers several new features like panoramic camera options, new layout to the friends list, and more. More notably the update adds a PS4 Link app that allows the ability to play PS4 games on your PS Vita via the remote play feature.

- Microsoft revealed that the Xbox One will require cloud updates, which could possibly cause the system to reboot. Of course this would be a problem while in the middle of a game. Microsoft has stated that while they have worked to correct this, they haven't completely fixed the issue of a system reboot.

- Microsoft confirmed that players who have a Xbox Live Gold membership will get the Xbox Music service at no extra charge. They did add that you will still get adds occasionally.

- Activision announced that they sold over $1 billion copies worth of Call of Duty: Ghosts to retail. This does not reflect the amount of money generated from actual public sales.
 
- Sony announced that the PS4 will come with a 30 day subscription to PlayStation Plus, a 30 day trial of Music Unlimited, and a $10 Sony Entertainment Network credit to use in the PlayStation Store.
 
- Sony announced the media streaming apps that will be available on the PS4 at launch in the US. The apps include: Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, Crunchyroll, EPIX, Crackle, NHL Game Center, NBA Game Time, VUDU, Redbox, and YuppTV.

- A two player co-op mode was announced for the PS4 launch game Knack. The second player can also use a PS Vita as a controller via the remote play feature too.

- In a completely unsurprising announcement, Activision said they would be releasing a new Call of Duty game in 2014. Some people are speculating the next Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 4.

- DC Universe Online won't only look better on the PS4, it will also be cross compatible with the PS3 version. This of course will allow both PS3 and PS4 gamers to play along side one another.

- Blizzard confirmed that players will be able to transfer their Diablo III characters from the PS3 to the PS4 version. Also, Diablo III will run at 1080p and 60 FPS on the PS4.
 
- Would you like World of Warcraft to become free-to-play? Well too bad! When asked, Blizzard said they had no plans to make the game free-to-play and were happy with the current subscription service.
