Weekly Wrap Up! (11/15/13)
- The lead level designer of Diablo III confirmed that the PS4 version will indeed support remote play via the PS Vita.
- The Battlefield 4 Commander app has been released in the iTunes app store. The app will allow players to view the entire map, select where to send players, and call in airstrikes.
- Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will not support the playback of 3D Blu-ray at launch. Also, according to the online user guide, the PS4 will not support 3D Blu-rays at launch either.
- Microsoft announced that the SkyDrive app will be available at launch on the Xbox One. SkyDrive will allow users to share and view their photos and videos via the cloud service.
- Sony has shared that they will allow for CD and MP3 playback via a patch that will release sometime after the PS4's launch.
- The Xbox One launch event will stream live on Thursday, November 21 at 8PM PT / 11PM ET. The event will be available on Spike TV, Xbox.com, and on the Xbox 360 via the Live Event player.
- Activision released a free Call of Duty: Ghosts app for the iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Windows 8 devices. The app will allow players to create, manage, and join a Call of Duty clan. The app will also allow players to create and customize their soldier load outs. Eventually, second screen features will be added to the app.
- Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb shared that the Free Games With Gold program will indeed be coming to the Xbox One.
- 4J Studios announced that the PS4 version of Minecraft will not be released at the console's launch. 4J Studio commented that they are working hard to get the PS3 version of Minecraft ready for testing.
- It was revealed that Xbox One downloadable games will have 1,000 gamerscore, compared to the traditional 400 gamerscore that current arcade titles have.
- Ubisoft announced that Rayman Legends will be coming to the Xbox One and PS4 in February 2014.
- Monolith revealed that they are working on a new Lord of the Rings game for the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game is called Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and is a third person action game. No release date has been announced as of now.
- Nintendo announced that a YouTube app will be released on the 3DS sometime soon. The app will allow 3DS owners to browse for videos on the bottom screen while a video continues to play on the top screen.
