Weekly Wrap Up! (10/25/13)
- Guerrilla Games announced that Killzone: Shadow Fall has gone gold and that the game's texture quality has increased four times since the first showing of the game back in February. Also, other improvements to the game's frame rate, lighting, and character animations have been made.
- Telltale announced that The Wolf Among Us will be coming to the PS Vita and iOS later this fall.
- Nintendo will be releasing a new Wii U deluxe bundle starting November 1st. This new deluxe bundle will replace the current 32GB deluxe edition (that includes Nintendo Land) and includes New Super Mario Brothers U and the expansion New Super Luigi U. This new deluxe edition will cost $299.99.
- Nintendo has discontinued production of the Wii in Japan and will not restock supplies in Europe. Nintendo did announce that the Wii will still be available in the United States.
- Respawn announced the release date of Titanfall. It will release on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on March 11, 2014 in North America, and on March 13, 2014 in Europe. Also, a collector's edition of Titanfall will be available that includes a 18 inch titan statue with working LEDs, art book, and a full sized schematic poster. The collector's edition will cost $249.99.
- Microsoft confirmed that the headset adapter for the Xbox One will be released in early 2014.
- Microsoft revealed that Xbox One achievements will have a color coded option depending on the player that unlocks the achievement. Multiple people will be able to unlock different achievements separately, even if they are on the same console.
- Sony's social media manager, Sid Shuman, announced that the PS4's party voice chat will support up to eight people, like the PS Vita. Also, since the PS4's party chat is cross-platform and cross-game, PS4 players will be able to communicate with PS Vita players. Microsoft also confirmed that the Xbox One supports up to eight people in party chat, just like the Xbox 360.
- Sony added more PS4 games available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store via the PS3. The new additions are: Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Killzone: Shadow Fall.
- Sony revealed information about the day one patch for the PS4. The 1.50 update will be about 300MB and will include: enabling remote play/second screen features from the PS Vita, ability to upload and record gameplay, use the party chat feature, play games while downloading, and more. The update is required for people who want to use the multiplayer and Blu-Ray/DVD functions of the PS4.
