Weekly Wrap Up! (9/6/13)
- A demo for Beyond: Two Souls will be released on October 1st in North America and October 2nd in Europe. The demo features two levels. Beyond: Two Souls will be available on the PS3 on October 8th in North America, October 9th in Australia, and October 11th in Europe.
- External storage will not be available on the Xbox One at launch, but will be added later on. The news came from Xbox Live's Major Nelson's podcast.
- Digital Extremes have announced that the free-to-play game Warframe is only a timed exclusive for the PS4. Warframe will released digitally on the PS4's release day and will be exclusive on the PS4 for three months.
- Microsoft announced that you can sign into both an Xbox One and Xbox 360 at the same time with the same gamertag. Just like it is now, you will only be able to sign into one Xbox One and one Xbox 360 at a time.
- It was announced that eight wireless controllers will be able to connect to the Xbox One at once. On top of that, the range for wireless controllers will be 30 feet. The PS4 will support four controllers. It will be interesting to see if developers create a game that will utilize eight controllers.
- Microsoft has confirmed that your reputation score on the Xbox 360 will not transfer to the Xbox One. This offers players a fresh start and is beneficial to those who have a poor or low reputation score right now.
- Microsoft finally announced that the Xbox One will release on November 22nd.
- Microsoft has said they will continue to support the Xbox 360 for three more years before phasing out support sometime in 2016. It was also mentioned that people can expect to see over 100 games released for the Xbox 360 in that time.
- Sony has announced the the Gaikai service is still planned to be released on the PS4 in North America sometime in 2014. Unfortunately, due to broadband issues Sony is unsure when it will be released in Europe. Also, Mircosoft has said that backwards compatibility could be possible with the Azure cloud service, but nothing official has been made.
- Best Buy has announced a next gen trade up offer. Players who purchase Xbox 360 games by a certain date will get a $10 voucher to trade in towards the Xbox One version. If gamers decide to upgrade before December 31st, they can bring in the Xbox 360 version of the game with receipt, and will then get a Best Buy gift card worth at least $40. - PC gamers and Batman fans will be happy to know that if you purchase certain Nvidia graphics cards you'll get a free copy of Batman: Arkham Origins when the game releases. The qualifying graphics cards are the: GeForce GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670, 680, 760, 770, and 780.
