Weekly Wrap Up! (9/27/13)

Guerrilla Games announced a season pass for Killzone: Shadow Fall. The season pass is $20 and will get you access to: a wave based co-op mode, three co-op map packs, and two multiplayer expansion packs.

- Warner Bros. have announced a season pass for Batman: Arkham Origins. The $20 season pass will grant players access to five upcoming DLC packs, which includes multiple costumes, initiation challenge maps where you train as Bruce Wayne, and a new story campaign. 

- Warner Bros. announced that the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins will cost $50, instead of $60 like the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. This is most likely due to the Wii U version not having any multiplayer portion. 

- Microsoft has stated that the SmartGlass app will allow for multifunction abilities such as: being able to access the Xbox One Guide to view what is on tv, change channels, see what your friends are doing, view achievements/challenges, watch game DVR clips, and even snap apps onto your Xbox One from your tablet or phone.

- Microsoft has shared that the game DVR function will only be available via Xbox Live at the launch of the Xbox One. Sharing via Facebook and YouTube will be available by 2014.

- Rockstar has confirmed  that microtransactions will be available in Grand Theft Auto Online. This will allow players to purchase in game money to buy things within the game. Rockstar also stated that money earned in GTA Online does not transfer to the single player side. Of course, the microtransactions are not required to buy things in GTA Online.

- Love the music of Grand Theft Auto V? iTunes now has three separate albums available! Each album is $10 or you can get the full compilation for $25. Volumes 1 and 2 are original and score music from the game, while Volume 3 is a mix of songs from the many radio stations in the game.

- DICE revealed the seven multiplayer modes for Battlefield 4. The seven modes are: conquest, domination, team deathmatch, squad deathmatch, rush, and the two new modes obliteration and defuse. All of the multiplayer modes will be playable on 10 different maps and will support anywhere from 10 to 64 players.

- Fans of the Thief games will be happy to know that if you pre-order the new game you will unlock a special in game mission when the game releases next February. The special mission is a bank heist in which you will be trying to steal a family heirloom.

- The first batch of DLC for The Last of Us has been announced. It is a map pack called Abandoned Territories, and consists of four different maps. It will be released on October 15th. Naughty Dog also commented that the single player DLC is slated to be out sometime in December or January. 

- Planning on buying a current gen version of a game and then upgrading to the next gen version? Ubisoft, EA, and Activision have confirmed that while multiplayer save files for CoD: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will transfer, any single player save files for Battlefield 4, CoD: Ghosts, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will not transfer. It is unclear as of now whether or not this applies to Watch Dogs.

- The release date for South Park: Stick of Truth has finally been announced. The game will release on December 10th in North America and December 12th in Europe. Anyone who pre-orders the game will get the Ultimate Fellowship Pack. This includes four exclusive costumes, each with a special ability. The "Grand Wizard Edition" was also announced for $80. It will include a Cartman wizard figure, the kingdom of South Park map, and the Ultimate Fellowship Pack. South Park: Stick of Truth will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
