Weekly Wrap Up! (8/30/13)


- Microsoft will be offering special white colored Xbox One consoles only to Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business employees. The super special edition has all the same extras as other day one editions but includes: 1 year of Xbox Live, all 1P games, and is free! The words "I MADE THIS" are printed on the front of the console too.

-The Azurite blue PS3 will be available in North America beginning October 8th. The limited edition blue PS3 is exclusive to GameStop and comes with one controller, a 250GB hard drive, and will cost $249.99.

- GameStop confirmed that all GameStop managers will receive a PS4 and seven games at launch. The seven games are: Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2K14, Madden 25, FIFA 14, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Beyond: Two Souls. Some of the games will be physical disc and some will be digital versions. Also, all GameStop managers will be getting a Xbox One.

- Microsoft announced that pre-order bonuses and special editions of Xbox One digital download games will be available, but more information will be announced later on.

- Microsoft shared that the main reason for the Xbox One region delay is due to extra language localization, and not due to a shortage in units.

- Microsoft has renamed the Xbox Marketplace to Xbox Games Store. The newly titled Xbox Games Store will be alongside the Xbox Music and Video Store. Microsoft said the name change was to make finding things easier on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

- Sony is supposedly going to release a PS4 bundle in Europe. The bundle will include a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall, PlayStation Camera, two controllers, and of course the PS4 console. It's listed at the same price as the Xbox One. This could be to counteract Microsoft announcing that pre-orders of the Xbox One will include a copy of FIFA 14 in Europe. 

- Sony announced that cross platform party chat will be available between the PS4 and PS Vita.

- Both Sony and Microsoft announced that the PS4 and Xbox One will have remote downloading capabilities. This will allow people to download things to their console while they're away.

- The next two free games with Games With Gold for September are Magic 2013 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas. Magic 2013 will be available from September 1st-15th, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be available from September 16th-30th.

- Warner Bros. Interactive confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins will not be coming to the Xbox One or PS4.

- LocoCycle will be available on the Xbox One online store for $20 at launch.

- Gearbox confirmed that the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition will be released on October 8th in North America, and October 11th internationally. The Game of the Year Edition will be $59.99 and includes:
            - All four dlc packs
            - Both added character classes
            - Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack
            - All heads and skin packs originally found in the collector's edition
            - Premiere Club content (Creature slaughter dome, golden key,
                                                Gearbox gun pack, vault relic)

- Nintendo announced a price drop for the Wii U beginning September 20th. The deluxe Wii U will drop $50 to $299.99.

- Nintendo unveiled the 2DS. The new slate designed handheld will be available October 12th and will cost $129.99. The 2DS will be able to play both DS and 3DS games, but the 3D capability will not be possible. Other than missing the 3D capabilities, the 2DS still has the same functions/features as the 3DS.
