Weekly Wrap Up! (8/2/13)

- Microsoft has officially listed the prices for the Xbox One controller, play and charge kit, and headset. The wireless controller will cost $59.99, play and charge kit is $24.99, and the headset will cost $24.99.

- Microsoft also confirmed they are making an adapter that will allow current Xbox 360 headsets to work with the Xbox One. It will not be included with the console, and no word on the price has been announced.

- Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will support third party video capturing devices, just as gamers can do on the Xbox 360 now. 

- Microsoft has confirmed that they have boosted the GPU from 800 MHz to 853 MHz and that developers have final dev kits in hand to make final improvements and adjustments.

- Sony announced some new details about the PS4. While you still need to pay for a PlayStation Plus membership for online multiplayer, you do not need PS+ for party chat, free-to-play games, and services like Netflix. Sony announced that your friends list will cap at 2,000, and PlayStation usernames and avatars will transfer.

- Sony clarified the use of the Vita as a PS4 controller stating that it can be done as long as the game is specifically designed for it.

- Ubisoft stated in an interview that they started working on The Crew four years ago, but decided to wait for the Xbox One and PS4 because of the power and enhanced features the next gen consoles could provide. The Crew is scheduled to release sometime in early 2014.

- Digital Extremes, developer of Warframe, have said they are considering bringing the free-to-play game to the Xbox One. They said they were pleased with Microsoft's announcement that they will allow indie developers to self publish on the Xbox One.

- Infinity Ward announced that they will be hosting a special one hour event to reveal the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Ghosts. The event can be streamed live on the game's website on August 14th, at 10:30 AM PDT.

- The next two free Games With Gold for the month of August will be Crackdown and Dead Rising 2 (including the add-on Case Zero). Crackdown will be available for download from August 1st-15th, and Dead Rising 2 will be available from August 16th-31st.
