Weekly Wrap Up! (7/26/13)

- The Playstation 4 has been passed by the FCC, and it has been reported to run at a max clock frequency of 2.75 GHz. The PS4's operating temperature is reportedly to run between five and 35 degrees Celsius (41-95 Fahrenheit) and weigh around six pounds.

- A report from Digital Foundry states that 3.5 GB of RAM will be used for the PS4's operating system. This would leave 4.5 GB of RAM left for games. Other sources are reporting that 1 GB of RAM is "flexible" and can be used on either the OS or games, which would mean 5.5 GB of RAM could be used on games. Sony hasn't confirmed this as of now.

- Microsoft has confirmed that independent game developers will have the ability to self publish their games on the Xbox One. Also, Microsoft has said indie developers won't be restricted on how much RAM they will need to develop their games.

- DICE has revealed more of the second screen abilities for Battlefield 4. Using a mobile device or tablet, players will be able to view information on the map, allies positions, browse servers, customize loadouts, view friends' status, and region leaderboards.

- Microsoft has announced the will be putting some kind of limit to the amount of post launch achievements developers can add to a game. Microsoft said developers can still add achievements after a game has been released, but the limit is to ensure things don't get too out of hand or overwhelming.

- Fans of the F.E.A.R. series will be glad to know that F.E.A.R. Online is in the works. The game will be a free to play PC title, and will feature team combat modes, cooperative missions, and more. Players can sign up for the beta at the F.E.A.R. Online website.

- Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available on the Wii U. It will be available on November 5th, just like the other console versions, and will have support for the Wii Remote and GamePad.

- Ubisoft confirmed that a PC version of Rayman Legends will be available alongside the console versions.

- Microsoft has delayed the release of Kinect Sports Rivals until Spring 2014. A spokesperson said this would allow developers to polish the game and release it as originally visioned. A demo of the game will be available in August at Gamescom and PAX Prime.
