Weekly Wrap Up! (3/22/13)
- Blizzard Entertainment announced their new card based game called Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. Players will be able to craft their deck of cards depending on the class of character they play. The game is being developed for the PC and Mac, with an iPad version coming later. People can sign up for the beta now, which will begin sometime this summer. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is planned to be released later this year.
- Crystal Dynamics have revealed that more dlc is planned for their smash hit Tomb Raider. Unfortunately, the dlc is for the multiplayer portion of the game. As of now, no single player dlc is planned.
- Telltale's awesome Walking Dead game is coming to the PS Vita. No release date has been announced yet.
- The rumors of the new Xbox being "always connected online" and "no used games" are continuing to cause quite a stir due to photographs from the development kits. The reports are saying that the games will be on Blu-ray discs that are only used to store data. Once the game is installed on the new Xbox's hard drive (a requirement) the disc will no longer be read during gameplay. Hopefully Microsoft will make some official announcements to clear things up soon!
- Sony has filed a patent that would allow PSOne and PS2 games to have trophies.
- Warner Brothers have announced a season pass for the upcoming DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The season pass will cost $15.00 (1200 MS Points) and will give gamers access to four new characters and new costumes for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Deathstroke based on the Flashpoint comic book story. The season pass will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3. A season pass has not been announced for the Wii U version as of now.
- A rumor about the next Call of Duty game has been announced. The rumor states that the game will be called Call of Duty: Ghosts, and will be released only for the next gen consoles and PC. The new CoD will be set in the future but players will use weapons from the past. Also, new movement controls such as being able to dash, slide, and peek behind cover are said to be in the new game. No official announcements have been made.
- Square Enix announced that a director's cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released as a Wii U exclusive. An official release date has not been announced.
