Game Reveal: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
The Assassin's Creed franchise has always been about exploring, history, fighting Templars, and taking players to past eras. In the last game (AC III) we were treated to Connor and the American Revolution. It looks like the developers at Ubisoft are wanting to continue to change things up and move onto another new era for the series. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag takes place in the earlier part of the 18th century off the coast of North America. Like the name "Black Flag" insists, it is a time when piracy was the way of life. Players will take on the role of Edward Kenway who is the father of Haytham (Connor's father).
The developers have said they are taking a historical and true approach to the setting and story line of the game. So don't expect this to be like Pirate of the Caribbean! Developers wanted the story to be gritty, dark, and truly reflect what it was like in piracy during that time period. Players will be able to attack enemy ships with new naval weapons and skills, while also boarding enemy ships and take control in new ways. Expect the core gameplay mechanics of the series to be found too. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to be released October 29th, on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC, and next gen consoles.
