Weekly Wrap Up! (8/10/12)

 
- Earlier in the week Amazon had leaked photos of what the box art of Wii U games would look like. At first they were taken as rumors, but Nintendo has now confirmed they are the real thing. Take a look at them above.

- EA announced that Mass Effect 3 will be a launch title for the Wii U. The Wii U version will include a digital motion comic. The digital motion comic will allow players to make choices and create/shape their character's history.

- Activision has announced that they will be revealing details on Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (Vita) next week at Gamescom in Germany.

- Crytek announced that they are not currently working on a Wii U version of Crysis 3.

- Sony will be releasing collection editions of God of War and Infamous for $39.99 on August 28th. The collections will include all the games in that series, plus additional bonus content such as dlc and more.

- Xbox 360 owners can get their hands on the Beyond Good & Evil HD remake this September. The collection will also include the games From Dust and Outland.

- Epic formed a new studio called Impossible Studios, which consists of many developers who use to work for Big Huge Games and 38 Studios (Developers of Kingdoms of Amalur). Their first project is working with Epic and Chair Entertainment on the iOS game Infinity Blade Dungeons.

- The state of Rhode Island officially owns all the assets of 38 Studios, which includes the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur. Rhode Island will be trying to sell the assests to pay off the remaining $75 million of the loan they granted 38 Studios

- Owners of the PS3 version of Skyrim finally get update 1.7. This update will include everything from the 1.6 update such as mounted combat and a slew of bug fixes. It is available now in North America and will be available next week in Europe.

- A hero and villain dlc pack for Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has just been released for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Each pack contains five new characters such as: Shazam, Nightwing, Bizzaro, Black Adam, and others.

- The PC version of Assassin's Creed III has an official release date of November 23, 2012. 

- Rumors are floating around about Black Ops 2 coming out on the Wii U due to pre-order tags being available at a Best Buy. No official announcement has been made though.
