Weekly Wrap Up! (5/4/12)

- Gaming website IGN has released an app for the Xbox 360. The app will allow gamers to view IGN reviews, previews, videos, guides, and more. Xbox 360 owners must have a gold account to download the app.

- Info on God of War: Ascension's multiplayer have emerged. Players will control unnamed heroes and be able to choose to follow a god (Zeus, Ares, Poseidon, or Hades). Which god you follow will determine the powers and bonuses you earn, as well as weaknesses.

- Bethesda announced the title of the first dlc for Skyrim. The dlc is called "Dawnguard" and will be released on the Xbox 360 this summer. No word on when the dlc will be released on the PC or PS3.

- Kinect support for the Xbox 360 version Skyrim was released this week as a game update. Now 360 gamers will be able to shout the dragon language at their television and make their neighbors think they're crazy!

-  Rockstar has already announced dlc plans for their upcoming game Max Payne 3. Seven pieces of dlc (the first to release in June) are planned to be released for the multiplayer. Gamers can purchase a Rockstar Pass for 2400 Microsoft Points, or $29.99. This will give players access to all the dlc content as it's released.

- It's no surprise that the next Call of Duty game is Black Ops 2. Even less surprising is that it will be released on November 13, 2012. The game's site explains that the setting of Black Ops 2 will put players in a "near future, 21st Century Cold War."

- Blizzard has announced that global play will be available in Diablo III. You'll be able to gather loot with friends from all over the world. However, you will need to create a character in the appropriate region.

- ZeniMax Online Studios announced they are working on the Elder Scrolls Online. This mmo will take place 1,000 years before the events of Skyrim. Elder Scrolls online is scheduled to released in 2013 for the PC and Mac.

- Rumors are stating that Flextronics in Austin, Texas is already building the next Xbox, but that it's most likely just the development kits for developers to start testing out.

- Microsoft may be releasing a $99 Xbox 360 package. The package includes the 4GB version and a Kinect sensor. The catch is that it requires a two year, $15 a month charge for an Xbox Live membership. An early termination fee will result in anyone who wants to cancel the two year agreement. Sound good to you?
