Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

     Well it's another year and another Call of Duty game is coming to us. Treyarch is back at the helm and will be releasing Black Ops 2 on November 13, 2012. The story takes place in the not too distant future, in the year 2025. In this game you'll be playing as David Mason, the son of Black Ops hero Alex Mason. In this setting, China is in a cold war with the United States. Players will see the use of robotic technology fighting along side them in the battlefield. These robots won't be giant mech suits, but UAVs with mounted weapons or large tank-like walking robots. Treyarch wanted to stick to a modern feel with slight futuristic ideas on technology that already exists. 

     Some info on the campaign has been released, such as the new "strike force" missions. These missions allow you to take control of a black ops team in a variety of missions set during the war. If your team dies, you loose the mission and it will change the overall war. Also, you can choose what order you complete your objectives. This creates a kind of open world or sandbox feel. You can also choose what group you want to play as by zooming out and looking over the entire battlefield. Then you can select what group you want, and zoom back into their area. If you are a real time strategy fan, you can even issue commands while overlooking the entire battlefield. Pretty sweet!

     There hasn't been much information released on multiplayer as of now. However, we can expect to see all the new weapons, gadgets, and of course the frantic game play millions of people love. So far this entry to the series sounds like a new twist and to me, a much welcomed one. Check out the trailer below!
