Weekly Wrap Up! (4/6/12)
- More reports are coming in about the next Xbox. The rumored reports are stating the next Xbox will include a Blu-ray drive, built in Kinect, and will require a constant internet connection to help against piracy issues. Some are speculating that the constant internet connection could also be used to stop the ability to use used copies of games.
- Microsoft will be releasing limited edition chrome finish Xbox 360 controllers. The colors will range from silver, blue, and red. They are scheduled to be released in mid May for $54.99.
- Halo developer Bungie has officially transitioned everything that is Halo to 343 Industries.
- Sony has stated that they are "confident" that the Playstation 4 will release before the next Xbox sometime in the holiday 2013 season.
- Rumors on the PS4 are stating that Sony's next gen console won't be backwards compatible with previous Playstation games, and will have anti used game features. Internal specs are showing a quad core 2.9 GHz processor and will use an AMD chipset. The PS4 is also being codenamed "Orbis," which means circle in Latin.
- An update (1.65) will be released sometime soon for the PS Vita that includes minor enhancements.
- Resistance: Burning Skies (for the PS Vita) multiplayer mode will supposedly include 8 player online support, 6 maps, and 3 modes.
- BioWare has announced that an extended cut to Mass Effect 3's ending will be available as free dlc. The dlc will add new epilogues and cinematics to extend the game's ending. BioWare believes this will please all the angry fans and create a more complete ending. The extended ending dlc will be available sometime this summer.
- The Skyrim update 1.5 is now available on the consoles. This update adds a kill cam feature, new kill moves, and several bug fixes.
