- Information on the new Xbox (Xbox 720) are pouring in. Sites are saying the chipset for the new console will be in production by the end of 2012. The new chipset is going to be six times as powerful as the Xbox 360 and will have 20% greater performance than Nintendo's upcoming console, the Wii U. Rumors are also stating that the new Xbox will support Blu-Ray discs and possibly will not play used games. Sources are also confirming that the Xbox 720 will be released by the end of 2013.
- Do you like video game action figures? Do you like DLC? Great! Online distributor BigBadToyStore has confirmed that their new Mass Effect 3 figures will come with downloadable content (DLC). According to the manufacturer's website, the DLC could be for a powerful weapon to use in multiplayer. The code could also be for character boosters, and weapon upgrades for multiplayer. Unfortunately, these codes will only be for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Mass Effect 3.
- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be released on the Xbox 360 on April 17th. The Xbox 360 version will include more than three hours of new gameplay, story, and content.
- Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price announced that they will not be making anymore Resistance games.
- Fans of Gamefly can rejoice as Netflix has decided to cancel the plans to offer video game rentals.
- Officials at Nintendo have stated that the Wii U will be released worldwide by the end of this year. Talk about still being vague with the dates!
- Nintendo has announced the outline of their new Nintendo Network for the 3DS and the Wii U. The service will allow for people to personalize their accounts on the Wii U, and allow for payable downloadable content. The service will possibly allow for users to pay for digital downloadable copies of games.
