Weekly Wrap Up! (1/13/12)
- Demos with extra goodies! The demos of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3 will unlock special items to be used in the full game releases. The demo of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be released on January 17th, while Mass Effect 3's demo is scheduled to release later this month.
- No PS4 at E3 this year? Sony representative Kaz Hirai stated in an interview at CES that Sony has no plans to make any announcements at E3 2012. He stated that the PS3's ten year life cycle is still the plan and there is no reason to move away from that. Things could change from now until then, and we still haven't heard Microsoft squash the rumors of announcing the new Xbox.
- Blizzard has clarified the rumors of Diablo III coming to the consoles. They stated that they are still only looking at the possibility of making the game on the console and are focusing on finishing the PC/Mac version right now.
- Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clany's Ghost Recon Future Soldier will be released in North America on May 22, 2012 and in Europe on May 24, 2012. Also, a multiplayer beta will be released in April for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
- At CES Microsoft demoed the integration of Kinect with television shows, and also announced that Kinect will be released for Windows on February 1st.
- The Silent Hill HD Collection has been delayed until March 6th while the latest game in the series, Downpour, will be released on March 13th.
