Weekly Wrap Up! (12/2/11)

- EA announced that over 8 million copies of Battlefield 3 have been sold across all platforms. Battlefield 3 sold five million copies during the first week.

- There was a new firmware update on the PS3 this week. The 4.00 update added Vita functionality and privacy options.

- Rumors are surfacing on some new ideas for the Dead Space franchise. These include a first person shooter, fighting game, and even an "Uncharted" style game. Sounds like a new facelift for the franchise to me!

- Thanks to Black Friday deals, 960,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold throughout the week. What's even crazier is that 800,000 of that were sold in a 24 hour period. Merry Christmas to Microsoft!

- EA has confirmed the release date for the "Back to Karkand" dlc pack for Battlefield 3. It will be released on the PS3 on December 6th, and then on the Xbox 360 and PC on December 13th.

- Video game magazine GamePro will officially be shutting down. The U.S. version of GamePro online will be no more as of December 5th, 2011. GamePro started out in magazine form in 1989 and then integrated to gamepro.com in 1996.

- Bethesda has released a patch for their mega game Skyrim, but the patch has caused new problems for gamers. Since then they have announced that they will be releasing another new patch within the next week or so to fix these problems. Bethesda has also stated they will treat their patches with better care.
