Weekly Wrap Up! (10/14/11)
There's a new addition to the site. At the end of each week I'll be posting the "weekly wrap up." This will be a great way to get some of the week's news out to everyone so you know what's been going on in the wonderful world of gaming. So put on that bib and get ready for your weekly helping of gaming news!
- Earlier this week Microsoft began accepting applications for beta testing of the dashboard update that is scheduled to go live on November 25th.
- New demos such as The Cursed Crusade and avatar items were added to the Xbox Live Marketplace.
- DLC for Forza Motorsport 4, Duke Nukem Forever, Dragon Age II, and more were added this week on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
- BioWare revealed details on the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer which allows for four player co-op missions.
- Square Enix released photographs of game footage from their new gaming engine called "luminous" and they are quite stunning.
- The Sony Playstation network had attempted hacks again this week. The attacks were caught and it is said that less than one tenth of a percent of accounts were affected. Those accounts where the attacks were successful had e-mails sent to them notifying them of this and the steps needed to reset their accounts. No credit card information was taken. This is a good time to make sure your passwords are strong and that you don't share the same username and password with other online accounts.
- Uncharted 3 has gone gold and each brand new copy of the game will include a code allowing access to the Starhawk beta that will take place in early 2012.
