"OH YEAH...WELL MY STEED CAN FART RAINBOWS!”- FINAL THOUGHTS ON UNDEAD NIGHTMARE! Part 1.
Hello everybody! First things first if you don't wish to know squat about various challenges and missions in Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare then I strongly advise you surf to another blog! If instead you give half a crap about reading someone's thoughts on the newest DLC from Rockstar then by all means keep reading....also there will be some spoilers so take that for what it’s worth. As you know from our first blog we loved the download Undead Nightmare (if you haven't read that check it out!), since finishing the single player side of it, I have to say that it's truly some great gaming. I loved the tongue in cheek /cheese factor that Rockstar put in this campaign. It has some really touching moments yet how touching can you really be(or want to be) when you're blowing the heads off of anything that moves!!? So, because of my long-winded -ness (is that a word?) and the fact that I'd rather you not doze off on me, I'll cover my favorite things about this masterpiece of DLC over a few blogs. Onward we go!!!!
MYTHICAL CREATURES & APOCALYPSE HORSES:
This has to be one of my favorite parts of the game. It took me most of the game to find all of the horses and it wasn't until after finishing single player that I actually found "Famine" along with 2 of the 3 mythical creatures. I will say I was very disappointed when I first saw that you received no deed for each horse- I was sick and tired of idiot undead horses running off the side of cliffs, not coming to your whistle when you had 16 zombies practically crawling up your butt, and plunging headlong into the deepest marshes in Thieves Landing. To my surprise when I finished getting all the horses, I received the deeds. That was awesome...from here on its War and Death all the way baby! Now I just hope that more DLC be released so I can make use of this option fully! Also you have to definitely get the unicorn...get rid of that pesky chupacabra first and then head over to Deiz Coronas(north of it or where the 3 horses on the map show up) and patrol the area. One key thing to note is the Unicorn WILL NOT appear as a blue circle on the map hud like all other mythical creatures so you'll just have to patrol for a while before it appears. Fortunately, Rockstar isn't merciless so you can find the bugger by spotting the RAINBOW CLOUD that trails after it....So... I guess unicorns do eat Lucky Charms!!!
Anyway, rope it/break it and you've got yourself one pretty steed of riding power!!! Its mostly just a visual treat but watching yourself fly through hordes of zombies leaving a rainbow wake was just too much. Suffice to say, I broke into a severe grin that wouldn't leave my face- Rainbow Power!!!......Take that you zombie buttholes! Also I loved how when you got close to mount the unicorn, butterflys floated lazily around it. I can imagine there were a ton of female gamers or My Little Pony fans who cried in glee with this found mount. Definitely take the time to get this extra! Finally, the fact that you got to hunt bigfoot was just cool in so many ways. Rockstar paying homage to their own game was cool but also the idea that you could probably expect Bigfoot to be traipsing around the Wild West made sense in so many ways. I loved the ending to this mission and would be curious to know if people killed the last bigfoot or left him alone. I folded and left the poor sucker alone....slaying him would have been the better choice...no more lonely nights in the wild west! Anyway, I'll be chatting in the next week about the Undead sharpshooting/ hunter challenges, trendy fashions for zombies, glitchy town savings, and the ending of the DLC. Until then let your aim be true and go on a blunderbuss zombie hunting spree...you know you want to!!!!

I couldn't stand the thought of poor sasquatch out there without his own kind... I killed the S.O.B.
ReplyDeleteAs for the butterfly-enveloped unicorn: Can't freaking wait.
