Weekly Wrap Up! (1/30/16)



- Ubisoft revealed details on the season pass content for The Division. The season pass will include three separate expansions that will be released throughout the year. The first expansion is called Underground and will let players explore a new area of New York City. The second expansion is called Survival and will make players survive as long as possible in a hostile environment. The only information given for the third Expansion right now is that it's called Last Stand.

- The Playstation Plus free games for February were announced this week. PS4 owners will be able to download Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Grid Autosport will be available for the PS3. Finally, Lemmings Touch and Nova-111 will be available for the PS Vita.

- Funcom is developing a new open world survival game set in the Conan universe called Conan Exiles. A beta is planned to launch on the PC sometime this summer and will eventually release on both consoles and PC.

- Ubisoft has partnered with eSport organizer ESL to develop a Rainbow Six Siege Pro league. The pro league will begin in March on both Xbox One and PC. 

- The first DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on February 2 on PS4 (later on Xbox One). The names of the new maps will be: Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet. Take a look at the super teaser trailer for the map Splash which takes place in an abandoned water park.



- Despite rumors, Bungie stated that they will not be adding a microtransaction option that would allow players to buy ammo packs with real money in Destiny.

- Responding to fans' questions, Bethesda has commented that an announcement regarding mods for Fallout 4 on Xbox One and PS4 are coming soon.

- Developer of Homefront: The Revolution (Dambuster Studios) has referred to the game as the "Dark Souls of shooter" stating that tactical mechanics will be necessary to work through the game's campaign. Also, a new co-op campaign mode called Resistance Mode will be available in the game. Finally, the developer stated they plan on supporting the game with free content for at least a year after release.

- Rumors are stating that a PC version of the Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break will also be released. No official word or date of the PC version has been announced. Quantum Break will release on the Xbox One on April 5.

- EA revealed news about the season pass content for Star Wars Battlefront. The first DLC content will release in March and is called Outer Rim. It will include locations such as the factories on Sullust and inside Jabba's Palace. The next DLC pack is set to release in the second quarter of 2016 and will take place in Cloud City. The third DLC pack will release during the third quarter of 2016 and will take place on the Death Star. The final DLC pack is only mentioned as releasing in "early 2017."

- Love action games like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry? Well, action game wizards Platinum Games has revealed the announcement trailer for their upcoming game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. The game is set to release this summer for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.



- Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment have been combined into one company known as Sony Interactive Entertainment. The new company will take effect on April 1 and will bring the PlayStation manufacturer's hardware, software, and network operations all together.

- Back in December Bungie made a change to Destiny's matchmaking that paired like skilled players with each other in the Crucible PvP matches. Unfortunately players were experiencing lag issues. Bungie changed the matchmaking with this month's Iron Banner that will focus on better connection quality to improve stability, but also try to match players with similar skills.

- It's alive! Well, sort of. Developer Daybreak Games has shared that news regarding the PS4 version of H1Z1 is coming soon.

- The February Games With Gold were announced. Xbox One owners will be able to download Hand of Fate and Styx: Master of Shadows. Sacred Citadel and Gears of War 2 will be available for download for the Xbox 360.

- Nintendo released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The game is set to release on March 4 for the Wii U.
