Titanfall Beta Impressions and YouTube Channel!

First let me say that Gamers On A Rant now has a YouTube channel. It was just created so there aren't tons of videos yet. However, the Titanfall videos in this blog are from the channel (Gamers On A Rant YouTube channel link). The channel is just a way to show some gameplay footage of games we here at Gamers On A Rant are playing. Subscribe to the channel and like the videos if you want to, and thank you if you do.

With the Titanfall beta wrapping up it's time to share my overall impressions of the game. Now, I know this was the beta and only a small part of the full version so I shouldn't make a final judgement on the game. Well I'm going to anyway because based on my playtime with the beta Titanfall is freaking awesome! Even just playing the beta the game has lived up to the hype and then some. There was so much about the beta that I loved and it kept me coming back the entire time the beta was up.
One thing I loved about the game is it is so accessible to players. One thing that causes this accessibility is the use of the AI soldiers or grunts. Even though you don't get as many points for killing a grunt or spectre as you would an actual player, you always feel like you're contributing towards your team and overall score. Plus, every time you  kill an enemy AI it lowers the time it takes to get your titan. That's the other great thing about the game...the titan! Granted you could only play as one kind of titan, I was surprised at how easy it was to move around and control the titan. It also never got old ejecting out of your titan and seeing your pilot sail through the sky, or ripping another player out of their titan.

The wall running and double jump maneuvers of your pilot are both easy to pull off and very effective. The movement ability of your pilot also adds a new layer to the multiplayer since players can run along walls, leap across buildings, and quickly climb onto rooftops. It keeps you on your toes. I actually enjoyed played the game as both a pilot and titan. The burn card system also works really well. You can select up to three cards with special abilities or perks to use in a match after you die. Once you use the card it is "burned" and is gone. It was just a nice little extra perk system that was a lot of fun to use.
The game also feels balanced and that is a huge deal with online multiplayer fps games. I never really felt like one type of gun for my titan or pilot was too weak or couldn't deal damage to enemy players. Plus add in the customizing loadouts and unlockables for your pilot and titan and you have yourself a winner. I had so much fun with the beta and the only problem is that now that it's done I have to wait a little over two weeks to play it again. Thankfully the next time I do play Titanfall it will be the full version and I simply cannot wait.
