Weekly Wrap Up! (8/9/13)

- The collector's edition of Batman: Arkham Origins has been announced. The collector's edition will include a steelbook case, a statue of Batman and The Joker, art book, assassin dossier, and DLC codes. As of now it is only available from Amazon UK, but Warner Bros. have said they will announce ability for North America very soon. Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release on October 25th.

- Ubisoft announced that the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist will not support offline co-op, but will support online co-op. The reasoning was so that they would be able to ship the Wii U version the same time as the other versions. Every other version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist will include both offline and online co-op.

- DICE has announced that the second screen experience for Battlefield 4 will only be available for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions of the game.

- Nintendo released an update for the 3DS that adds StreetPass Relay Points. Basically what you can do is go to a Nintendo Zone location and upload StreetPass data from a 3DS game. Then anyone else that has that same game can go to that location and upload the data. This removes the requirement of having to have two 3DS next to each other at the same time in order to share data. Nintendo Zone locations can be found here: Nintendo Zone Locations

- Sony has announced that a PlayStation Plus membership is not required to access the PS4's game recording and sharing function.

- Sony released an update for the PS Vita. Update 2.60 adds PlayStation Plus to each game to make it easier to manage data from the cloud. Also, you now have quicker access to the network settings by holding down the PS button a few seconds. Finally, you can stream videos and music through connected devices and the PS3 much easier.

- Microsoft has stated that the Xbox One's game DVR will capture video in 720p and at 30 frames-per-second. All game DVR videos can be edited, shared, and are stored in the cloud. Also, a Gold account is required to access the game DVR, Skype, and Smart Match multiplayer matchmaking.

- Microsoft has confirmed that each Xbox One will include a chat headset.

- Microsoft announced that a Xbox Live Gold account is not required to share digital games. You can access any digital games on any Xbox One, and even if you download a game on a friend's Xbox One, you can access it on your console at home. Another nice feature is that your gold account is tied to your console and not just your gamertag. This means that if you aren't a paid subscriber, you can sign into a Xbox One that has a Gold account and use all of the Gold features.

- Bethesda has said that none of their current games in development will be coming to the Wii U, and that they are unsure as far as future games are concerned.
